    Hello,

I have a 01' 360. I've never had a problem with the car until today. It wont start. I only get a clicking noise but the engine wont turn over. Also, when I went down to my car this morning and opened the door, the gear box didn't reset which it always does.

Question: I'm assuming it's a battery charge issue? I have the trickle charger in the boot but am unsure where to hook it up. Can anyone help?

    Thanks!

How long is it since you last used the car?

I just drove it on Friday, and Saturday. Only been sitting a day. Do you know where to plug in the trickle charger? I can't seem to find the info anywhere.

I've changed two batteries this week!

I guess it's the New Battery season......the trickle charger may already be wired into your battery, most folks leave it in the front grill somewhere easy to find.....you may have to expose your battery and follow the wiring..

I found TWO trickle charger harnesses into my Ducati, that was rather a head scratcher....

My trickle charger has never been used from what I can tell. All I see is the outlet plug then a 3-4 prong plug that has a chrome/steel crew around it for secure attaching. I'll go down and look at the battery compartment in a 20 minutes or so but I have no idea where to hook it to the battery. I'm assuming there is the female piece for hooking it up on the battery?

I suspect it's already there, usually it's two ring terminals to stack onto the existing battery loom....

    Do you have your books?

It seems like there's some remote posts back in the engine compartment, to allow juming with cables, avoiding having to expose your battery.

Is there a female attachment to plug the tricking charge male piece directly into the battery?

Don't do it!.... *Many* tales of jump-started cars experiencing instrument panel failure.....

My 02c; If the battery is dead, and it sure sounds like it, the first question is why?

Leaving that aside, I think I'd remove the battery and hook it to a "real" charger versus the trickler. [Who's name is on that charger? Is it Ferrari OEM? Or a third party?]

Once you've got a charged battery we can revisit the trickle-charger.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Yikes!! Thanks for chiming in!!

You are right of course, about finding the reason....in my case "old batteries" was the reason....:D :D

    ;)

Hopefully, he hasn't run off to the local used car lot to borrow one of those big ol' wheelie chargers...... "This 'll get 'er going - Just set 'er to 24v and she'll start a truck - Good idea with them high-compression Eye-talian motors as well!"....... :)

    Cheers,
    Ian

If it is a factory trickle charger (which it sounds like) have you considered consulting that top secret document called an owners manual to find out where to plug it in?
