All that childish babble regarding the speedster reproduction you post, much more babble about pretty much everything, and here is a man with a rare 73 RSR and that is all you have to say? You clearly don't know your cars and are basically sitting behind a large screen staring at your reflection. I question your purpose here, sorry.

    mroz ,

It does look good without the numbers . I so glad you took my opinion/comment in the correct spirit. I knew it was a Brumos delivered & prepped car. And most likely, they had it painted in their colors and identical scheme to their main car at the time , originally , for back up . To be ready just in case. But I still would not run the 59 today. No real 59 History.

You can call Brumos , and speak to Hurley H. regarding the paint history. He still works there , and I'm sure he would remember . And be glad to tell you about it. I hear he's a very friendly guy.

It is very beautiful. Take good care of it. Yours might be the only 73-74 RSR with original panels in the world.

    I'm curious to hear of 1973 RSR 360 1054.

    nickd,

Do you know any of the early owners / history ? There is not much info. seemingly recorded for that chassis number around.

This is all I could find (and who knows how accurate - but I would guess probably so , as similar info. is referenced on 2 Swedish forums) . But it mentions nothing of the earliest history (1973 - ?) :

Var finns 935 OK Porschen i dag? - Ventilen
    www.porsche.nu/forum

Bilen är från början en Carrera RSR 2,8 1973 (9113601054). Björn Waldegård tog den till Sverige och körde rallycross med den. Sen blev den banåkarbil och så småningom SM vinnare med 935 look.

    Translated :

"The car is originally a Carrera RSR 2.8 1973 (9113601054). Bjorn Waldegard took it to Sweden and was driving with the rallycross. Then there was the banåkarbil and eventually Championship winner with 935 look."

    Translated :

"Thomas, you have an amazing track, you know what happened to the 73 RSR 1054 during the O'Neil brothers Konrad and then had it? I checked with my knowledge and Googled me blue without finding anything. The car was apparently quite early on to 74 and RSR was white when Konrad sold it? "

(mroz - see what I mean about original body panels on an RSR , they really do not exist. Except possibly for yours).

Heres a modern times photo of 360 1054 at the Monterey Historics which I found :

People take the car stuff too seriously.

Below is a document from a previous owner that had talked to Hagestad who describes seeing the car for the first time:

Appears the number 59 was on the car.

I know the current owner and I suspect he did his homework based on the cars he's had or has in his stable. Actual car photo'd in Porsche Post - UK Porsche club magazine and the car was present at the Classics at the Castle @ Hedingham UK quite recently..

Let me check and see if he's into sharing his findings...

the car was owned by peter perfect...the number stays!!!

as a note: i looked closely at the period photos and compared to the recent photos...it is remarkable to see ALL the details look correct today including the driver side front fender lip.

it looks like this car has never been shunted.

this car is true museum quality!!!!!!!!!

    happy thanksgiving all.

I should do the tour auto in the RSR. I wonder if they will accept the car for early next year.
I have cousins in Bordeaux. Should drive over, after the tour, for a glass of wine.

You definitely should. Cant think many better cars to do the Tour Auto in. It's worth trying to get it registered...An RSR is always a welcomed addition! Im not jealous at all :).

That car is so beautiful. I noticed the original post is from 2010. i wonder what the owner is doing with it of late. The body is so well proportioned.

Here's a photo when it was owned by Dr. Jackson.

IMO, the deep-dish 15 inch Fuchs are best looking Porsche wheel ever made. Photos by Frank Barrett and Ted Shaw.
