I have roamed the net daily trying to get a rough idea of what the new 458 Italia
    spyder will look like.
So far I gather it will have a transparent panel to show the engine, but where I am confused is the way they will go with the headrest fairings. One drawing on a website shows little blister type fairings behind the headrests--basically humps about 12" long behind each seat.

Several other sites show a car that has sort of a raised ridge going from right next to the headrests and then extending back several feet in effect a sort of 3" high flying buttress.

I want to make a painting but need to know if anyone's seen the car for sure and can confirm which is the correct way they will be handling the design from the seats back.

as opposed to short humpy headrest fairings about 13" long

Most likely none of these is correct. All are guesses and no one that I know of has seen it in public yet.

This third image has a short buttress near the driver and a long buttress over at the passenger side. Thus it is an obvious photochop.

My understanding is that it's Geneva in the spring of next year. But, I don't think they have announced it officially.

2nd half of next year. The public unveiling will most likely be at the Frankfurt show which opens to the press on the 13th September.

I would think a Geneva launch and delivery towards the end of the year.
If Ferrari end up with a 2 year gap between 430 and 458 spyders they
will surely lose the patience of some customers to competition

It won't be at Geneva. The 612 replacement will be shown there.
