After a year I am to the point of final assembly after my 355 major. I failed to mark the cat and bypass valve thermocouple plug in location. Dumb!
There are 2 ECU modules on the right side. I am looking for the correct ECU location for the bypass plug and the cat plug. As always, Thank You!

No, because no other manufacturer uses that silly system.

I have it noted in my research paperwork, had to deal with the same last week for another FC car. I will be putting in a short day tomorrow and will give you a shout with the wire colors if it isnt answered here first. Kris made me leave my home work bag at the shop yesterday...

Your input was priceless......your new coolant hoses and gold connector kit are just plane AWESOME!!!!

Pulled the fuse on the old fuel pump..cranked it over until oil press. came up and it started with very little noise......thanks again for the hot tip..

Thanks Guys! A lot of work but hopefully worth it in the end.
Both Dave and Bruce were instrumental in guiding me through this journey. What started a year ago as a simple, if there is such, F355 major turned into much more substantial project. I only exceeded my budget(budget and Ferrari, now there is a contradiction in terms) by 150%.
I have only been able to drive the Ferrari about 100 miles since completion so my initial observations are limited in scope.
The Dave Helms Coolant Hose Kit is a substantial improvement over the stock OEM hoses as supplied by Ferrari. Jacketed and considerably more robust in construction. A well engineered product that should yield extended life and reliability. IMHO a must for anyone performing a major on these now +10 year old Ferraris, regardless of model.
I can provide some initial impressions of the Dave Helms Gold Connector Kit. Sorry most are subjective, not quantitative data. My F355 did not have any major connector problems I was aware of. No CE lights etc. My boots were deteriorated and cracked so I knew problems would manifest over time. I followed Dave’s directions to the letter. Photos of each connector as well as mapping wire colors etc before cutting. Utilized the professional grade tools Dave provides as well as the many “tips” he learned and incorporated from other installers input. Not a project to “Rush” to completion. Quality of workmanship is the key to a successful install. Dave’s support was invaluable.
The 1st impression starting the car was the Motronic cycled through the testing phase considerably faster. No slow hesitant CE lights etc. The car idle quality is improved, no variation in rpm. Driving impressions are crisper throttle response. The on throttle lag I had has been all but eliminated. How much of this due to the improved electronic connections, or all the hard part work/ improvements, is unknown. There is a noticeable improvement.
To those that subscribe to Mr. Sheehan’s opinion that the newer Ferrari models are “throw away” cars due to obsolete electronics look to passionate technicians like Dave Helms, and so many others, who tirelessly work to improve and solve these problems. These fine Ferraris will always be supported the same way 246, 308 and 328’s are supported with hard parts that are NLA. There is a support market for these cars that defies good business sense. Just ask Dave!
Finally, Thank You again both Dave and Bruce for all your support. Those weekly phone discussions with Bruce got me through many difficult periods. I don’t want to embarrass either by saying any more. Now the weekly phone sessions will concern Bruce’s waiting in the wings Super Modified 355!

John, you just don't know how glad I am that your car is back together and running.

We indeed spent a lot of time on the phone and it wasn't all talk about the car either.

It has been a pleasure getting to know you and I must say that I was impressed with your skill level and the professional way in which you approached every problem....

As for my car?????????? Well, only time will tell if all the things I've acquired and fabricated will go together and truly be one of the best 355's ever built for the street.

Now if I can just get that sequential gearbox to fit...lol

What a treat that your efforts are finally realized. You get the all time award for patience and tenacity, no question. A daily occurance here but I sure hate seeing someone else go through those headaches. Thank you for the kind words.

One problem..... Careful what you say to Bruce. Now that you said "Super Modified" to Bruce.... we will see the wing mounted on TOP of the car. Wing goes in the back Bruce! ON THE BACK! The Snorkel goes on the roof and yes, you need fenders!

The DUAL snorkel and multi element wing on the Suzuki Pikes Peak Indy car must have you quivering, just take note of where they are mounted.

Are you changing to center seat with a luggage rack for the passenger or std. twin seating positions?

Ya know... just like you to screw up a friends perfectly good thread. It's Bruce's fault John, I blame him for all kinds of things all day long. He is a legend in this area.

Yeah, I can screw up just about anything except a good lookin chic.

Mid mounted seat!!!!! Thanks Dave I hadn't even thought about that...a little McClaren F1 thingy.

I am a legend in Boulder for all the wrong reasons thanks to you...I'll return the favor here in the deep south. I'm even goin to name one of my stil's after you....

No, wrong era, McLaren's have two seats... them's the rules. I remember you cheating Panzer guys making the second seat sized where a GI Joe doll would be cramped just to get close to a center seating position. Last I tried, I still fit in the drivers seat but it would take a Cherry Picker to get either one of us bent up GFRT members in or out of any of these, cross that off the list.

Bodies were made for both of your examples just to change the class they run, look through the windshield... nothing but an IRL/Cart car with fenders and a picnic table on the back.... You have been talking to Gary and Flyboy again haven't you....Cheaters! Your 355 must use the OE chassis and basic engine, them's the rules. Don't get too worked up about that, those snorkels on the Suzuki aren't big enough to suck up anything larger than a stray Pigon. What good can they be if a full grown Mastiff cant be inhaled. Quit thinking petite, remember "Where Excess Was Barely Adequate" apply's to more that just stil's you build in the back yard.

John's out driving and enjoying his car while we sit and try to redesign the wheel, he is the smart one! Besides, what good is a perfectly good thread uless a few doorknobs come along and screw it up? Enter Flyboy and Gary to add to the mix and we can consider that a complete success.

Dave, There are rules for Bruce's 355? I thought the very premise was No Rules!

Flown under the GFRT banner, they are somewhat self perpetuating thus allowing good excuses when projects drag on for decades. With none of these types of rules, Bruce and I would be expected to finish them on a timely basis, something we could only dream of.

This AM he told me to make a list and prioritize.... Are you kidding me, I'm scared Kris might find it, she would trade me in for a new model. This working for a living gets in the way of so many important projects.

    Did somebody call my name???
I have been deputized!! We could use my badge for our emblem for the front of our entry, if I can get Flyboy back onto building some over-the-top crazy something!!!
