I was having a problem with my speedometer being off 10 %. I found these guys at www.12oclocklabs.com. Through working with them, they have come up with a device that allows you to correct for any variance. The parts needed are the SpeedoDRD and the FBUF. I have a 348 but it should work with any Veglia speedometer which I understand is on most models. Ask for Brooks at (937)719-1518. For installation notes see the following thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=303123

Having a 'normal' 308 speedo which reads sorta 70mph at a true sorta 65, I'm quite interested in removing the sorta. I know that PaloAlto Speedometer can cure the problem for sorta $200 by sending in your speedo and waiting sorta 3-4 months.

But I do like the idea of using these motorcycle calibrators. The SpeedoHeal is $114 and the SpeedoDRD is only $70 w/free s/h and impresses me. I haven't seen any installation instructions but it must simply be furning +12v and ground and intercepting the line between the impulse generator and speedo. ITS TIME HAS COME. Since this would NOT involve removing or otherwise messing with the speedo OR impulse generator, but only the wiring between the two, I'm thinking about taking the plunge and will fully photo document the exercise...weather willing (might be spring).

    Anyone installed one?

Jim, what's the FBUF? Sounds like filter/buffer...

I know what you mean about how much of a pain it is to drive around not knowing the correct speed. I would highly recommend doing the correction right away. Why wait until spring?

The FBUF is a board used get the signal right to the SpeedoDRD. I laid out exactly what it does in this thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=303123&page=2 along with step by step instructions on how to do it. You are right that the SpeedoDRD is $70. The guys at 12 O Clock labs were great to work with and came up with this board. You can get the FBUF for $12.95 or they will send you the schematic and you can make your own. It only took me about 3 hours to do the full install and that was figuring it all out. I think you could do it in less than 2 hours if you follow what I laid out in the other link. It is really easy to do. PM me if you have any questions.

Lol. One of the charms of Ferrari ownership...the speedos have a little 'peg' at 12 mph. No matter if the key is in or u r moving at all, u r going at least 12 mph at all times.

Sorry, can't help you with that one. It is always 10 miles an hour on mine too. If your speedometer reads the wrong speed at other MPH this device will help you out. It is my understanding that the speedometers are off on most of the cars. I got tired of trying to guess how fast I was going so I found this device to correct it.
