    Thanks, Ross.

The stem cell transplants sure seem to have tipped the scales significantly towards more positive outcomes.
I believe RB, the thread starter, credits his transplant with his continued presence among us.

As to the rta. Surely they'll have to pass it this time or be exposed for the shear bloody-minded responses you've dealt with.
Looking forward to getting together with our cars one day soon.
    Cheers mate

    You Too Rob,

Im glad to see you are keeping well.

Its now over one year since my diagnosis, and boy it's gone fast, chemo, stemcell transplant, blood transfusions, more chemo, it's all a blur. But I wake up alive each morning.

    Cheers,
    Ross

very sorry to read about your bereavement, its a tough disease, this thread is a good place for us to share our experiences. Unless you have actually gone through it, I find it difficult to fully explain to 'others' what it is really like.

Keep with the program, I'm two years into my second stem cell transplant for Myeloma, a long way to go, every day is a bonus I've had to make radical changes to my life, the upside to that is that I now do things that I wouldn't have previously. Sorry about that being a bit convuluted, its the treatment, well thats my story.

All the best from the other side of the planet.

my numbers are up everso slighty, after a bone marrow bipsy and PET scan, the consensus is that it is residual cancer cells and not a new offspring/outbreak or whatever the word is.

So I've just started Revlamid, at £4000 per 21 pills, thats $6500 aussie, I'm very thankful for the vigilance and medical ability of the NHS team looking after me.

also, more news, just bought a 1900's house still very much in original condition and needing a complete overhaul/renovation, that'll keep me busy during 2011.

Sadly, building work and cancer treatment don't mix and I've got a get out of gaol free card from Matron, so no graft for me just the brain power this time.

The Ashes test looks good, so far, heavy snow and cold not seen this early in the yrear for 17 years and a New Years Day car meet at the local Royal Navy Air Station.

I saw David L at EC over the weekend, looking a picture of health, despite 4 years of serious bowel cancer. We have the best medical people in the world here, who save countless lives.

For those of you who know him, Warren Weldon, one of the legends of Australian motor sport has had a major op where they removed some serious anomolies.
I can advise that he is out of intensive care and, as a result of removing the epidural, is complaining bitterly about the pain. Sounds about right :D
