Your bracket looks great. PM sent.
"On CCCVIII the coils are upside down so the leads (yellow) feed off the top for nice/clean apprearance." I would reconsider mounting the coils upside down. Having the electrical connections upside down is inviting water / corrosion problems. A car that does not start is far less attractive than a upsidedown wire connection - IMHO.
You bet. But CCCVIII only runs occasionally (some Sundays) on Hwy 1 when there are clear skys. Tioga Pass notwithstanding of course.
Going farther into the black hole- again. Plan to make CAT SS "test pipes" when installing ANSA exhaust while shunning Strebro. Anyone have the dimensions of the CATs? Length/diameter/flange sizes/etc. Want to manufacture "test pipe" before "examining" CATs. Is there 308 CAT ISO with dimensions out there? Image Unavailable, Please Login
The picture in earlier posts was taken during initial installation while checking XDis layout for clearances. This picture is looking at the installation from right side (Also-see last picture on page#1 to illustrate clearance issues). Now attached to the original frame bolts, there's nearly 6" of space between coils and oil filter. Re-moisture: CCCVIII is a fair weather car pluse a smear of dielectric will seal the terminals. I'm developing a boot to seal the two plugs. Its probaly more work than its worth but then again it is better than daytime TV. Another step into the black hole- ordered cam bets from GT Auto Parts, Phoenix, AZ- $24 each. Life is good. Black hole #2- plan to make "euro resonator" "test" pipes. Lookng for dimensioins before removing CATS. Plan to make SS "Test" pipe(s) with expansion chamber attaching all to new ANSA muffler. Has anyone done this? If so, how did it workout- fit/ sound/ performance? Now I can see why it makes sense to remove the engine in the first place-but saving that for next time. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have heard (not that I would ever do it <yeah, right>) that some people gut the CATS and simply put them back into the car. On visual inspection, the car appears to have CATS, but, of course, they are empty. Since most of the older cars have non-functioning or removed air injection systems and other "pollution" devices are mostly inoperative, it would seem that gutting or removing the CATS would not seriously upset the system, though they might seriously upset your State's Motor Vehicle or Environmental Protection agency, if they found out.
Careful. Just "testing" turn-up off street. Regulation violation with a 31 yr old car- never crossed my mind.
Removed LR wheel. Removed rear fender well liner. Located Ferrari rear light wiring harness between fender & fender well liner. Bundled XDi wiring to Ferrari wiring harness. Routed XDi thourgh trunk firewall with Ferrari rear light wiring harness. Tidy. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
