I think had it been Senna or Schumacher, neither them or Petrov would have finished that race, I was hoping Fernando would take out his own wing and try to pass Petrov rather than finishing behind him. Again, this was not Alonso's fault but more of a strategy mistake on the part of Ferrari. Regarding the OP's article, some other words posted by Stefano. During the race just about any pass I watched was done at the end of the straights. That's a big problem when the Renault in front of you is quite a bit faster down them. Alonso couldn't get close enough on the straights to perform a pass, and the rest of the track was just follow-the-leader. As far as taking his wing out goes, common sense would dictate that the race isn't over until the fat lady sings so why take yourself out during the race when there's a possibility of Vettel going boom, spinning out, etc.? It's easy to sit back somewhere and say "He could've done something," but frankly it should be said to Webber and Hamilton as well then. They both struggled with the same exact thing and I don't see anyone bashing them for not making a move.

lol your telling me Schumacher has honor? please.. Schumi and Senna has done way worse things than Alonso, Senna didn´t even care about anyone while racing.
After watching a clip from Singapore 2008, I have noticed one thing about Alonso that really irks me. In that race, as well as in Germany this year, Alonso knew that he only won due to manipulation of his teammates by the team principal. Even so, he never looked happier up on that top step, and gave no recognition to his teammate (though I understand the need for secrecy in 08). The man really has no shame, pretending that it was him alone who managed the win. Even Schumacher was embarrassed in Austria.
I said the same thing in the Germany thread from this year. He acted like he drove the greatest race ever - even in the post race interviews. Your statement accurately highlights the difference between Alonso/Schu.
There's a big difference in being a hardcore competitive racer on track and using other teams tech specs to see how their car works or arranging accidents to your benefit to help you win races.
