Forum Wars contacted me as they want a FerrariChat.com 458 to take on a L-Power.com 560 for a January taping in Houston. I already contacted one of the best Ferrari drivers, but he’s only getting a 458 Challenge and not street car.

Let me know if interested, someone in area or someone that will ship there. Also remember much more of performance is based on skill of driver and not the car. Also possible the driver could shoe your 458 if OK with that. He's a Ferrari Challenge North American champion and FChat user.

I offered to race any Lambo on the Planet at the next 24 Hours of Nurburgring but they weren't interested.

    This is a wankfest.

What did you expect from a tractor manufacturer? Youd have better luck asking to race a John Deer ;)

    Horses for courses.

TT G's did the Texas Mile at 253MPH.

    458's in the 170ies.

The 458 did manage to stop without destroying it's self...

In GT2 there were some very competitive G's and the Audi Version is very strong in GT3.

Seriously I'd Love to race one at the Ring or Le Mans.

I would love to see this happen with the driver that Rob has in mind. :)

Kidding aside, I know you are right, they are impressive cars, and capable on the track. Still not my cup of tea though. Those TT Gs are monsters, however.

There was an issue with the chute it could of happened to any car that had a chute on it. Theres cars that have gone nearly as fast without a hitch. With that said it would be fun to watch two stock street cars go at it in different forms of racing.

I think the real problem was that Richard can't drive. Watch his runs on Youtube... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Afh9gsV9tV4 Not sure about on the track but on the street my buddy SW's TT Gallardo will kill Enzos and bikes on spray all day long.

Never heard of L-power till now. At first glance thought it might be a tuner shop, but no. Definitly a good cause!

My guess is I know the driver's identity, too, and while NOT the Stig, he's an excellent shoe...hopefully someone will commit their 458 for the big test...and if they do, and the dates/time work, I might consider letting him toy with the tractor a just a little bit in a GTO, too :).

This could prove to be very entertaining & worthy of a road trip, any indication of where this will be filmed? Maybe the old blimp base in Hitchcock south of Texas City?

This show's still going? Sweet. I was on one of the pilot episodes....but I thought that since it was VR's project (supposedly) it would go by the wayside.

They will not allow drivers with professional experience (which it sounds like your driver has). In other words, no ringers.

im just glad at the prospect of a 458 being compared to another base model for the first time, its always against the superleggera or RS with the same conclusion. "458 best of both worlds, (insert track biased car here) is what i'd take to the track"

He's not a pro driver... just a club racer, but one of the best!

as Mike said, just amateur. we have someone else interested now, great talent, but "only" a 430 Scud. If the show wants to do a 430 Scud and a 2009 Lamborghini that would be cool.

L-Power didn't bring anyone to the show. We didn't find a 458 in time, but had a 430 Scud driven by a national autocross champion ready.

They expected the LP560 owner to pay to ship his car there and back, so they could make more money. The whole setup is a joke, plain and simple. You want a real show, you'd have to have some real investment.

anyone expected to get paid for this? people don't get paid to go autocross, club race, or show their car. they do it for the fun and competition. getting it on film would be a bonus I think, most races aren't on film. I had to pay $100 to get the DVD's when I ran the Runoffs.

Sad to say, but LP560 owners and F458 owners are in different leagues of income; they are technically competitor cars, but brand loyalty, and ease of inventory separate them... not that I'm stating anything that isn't obvious already... Maybe if they were comparing a LP670 vs. a 458...

    [just kidding LP]

LP couldn't find a Lamborghini to pay their own way to Texas or didn't have ANY cars local? Heck, we should have just done a FerrariChat.com vs. LamborghiniChat.com as we have dozens of Lamborghinis that would have made it. :)
