Same price, but for three books. I don't know the shipping method yet, and I haven't received a Paypal invoice yet.

Thankfully, we worked out a way to use the regular mail for EUR 10. I think he just wants you to send the amount to him at his PayPal email address. At least, that is what I just did.

I have exchanged e-mails with Palawan. They have copies available. The problem for me is they do not have an account with Paypal and want me to put my complete credid card details in an e-mail or send them an international money order. In this day and age this is not satisfactory. I will keep you posted if they bring themselves up to date. just one man's opinion tongascrew

Can you not just call with your credit card details or send a fax?

I understand not wanting to send them in an email, but you could always split the details in a couple of emails.

I wouldn't let this inconvenience stop you from getting a copy of this superb book, at a price less than what the specialist bookstores are selling for.

Good luck, hope it works out for you.

    Cheers Matt

    Dear Steve,
I agree with most of your review, but IIRC ‘Ferrari 250GT Competition Cars’ was by Jess Pourret, not Antoine Prunet.
    Kind regards,

Good review, I have received a copy and looked thru it.It's not going to tell you much that is not already out there but considering the subject it's a must have. Available thru Amazon and others for around $50. just one man's opinion tongascrew

The less-than-complete ownership information is a big weakness in this book. It is an opportunity lost, and one would think it would have been relatively simple to do, as Bluemel and Pourret have already documented the early ownership histories.

    Ditto that.

The book does publish some pretty impressive unseen photos of yesteryear but I am massively disappointed by it on the whole.

As Jack mentions, the ownership chains are a long long way out of date. Even some of the high profile transactions are missed out, but Chris Evans' purchase of 4675 is included, giving the feel that this is a book where the author has gathered his information from barchetta.cc rather than first hand knowledge.
These details are hopelessly out of date and really let the book down.

And yes, of course it is Jess Pourret.

One last niggle and I'll be quiet....The dust jacket looks like the work of a design intern. Please, for a book of this price, a little more drama on the DJ (or at least crop the photo properly.)

Ownership histories change as soon as a book is published. The barchetts sites do a pretty good job on the 250 GTOs What would have been nice is is much more deail on the design, construction and development of the cars. I have the other good books on the 250GTO and will get around to them when I have finally done with my internet research. This will be done when I am finished with the web sites on the individual tracks and competition events It's interesting how much info there is in the web sites of some of the more obscure events not found elsewhere(about 80 left to go} If anyone has suggestions along these lines please post them or e-mail me at [email protected]. just one man's opinion tongascrew

With GTOs..not so much. Even so, it would have been a good idea to update as of the publication date. There isn't any real good reason for doing otherwise.

Do you guys make a Christmas list of book wants?

    Here's mine:

    Autocourse annual
Jo Siffert - by Ed Heuvink
Silver Arrow In Camera - by Anthony Pritchard
The Brother Rodriguez - by Carlos Eduardo Jalife-Villalón

I would love to get the new Lemans 3 volumne history due early next year, but at $600 it's a little pricey for my list.

    Cheers

Just a follow up here on my experience with Marcus Nilles at V12 Books... My order arrived promptly and was packed exceptionally well. I would definitely recommend this seller to others given that their prices are less than many and evident care was certainly taken to insure my purchase was not damaged in transit. Thoroughly impressive, really.

    Hi Steve, and others
    Just done my own quick review;
IMHO - It's not as good as Bluemel/Pourret
It doesn't include race nos. in the listings
The caption for p.263 is totally wrong. The GTO is 4153GT at the 1964 Le Mans Test Days, not 3757GT as described.
The colour of 3451GT described on p.88 as maroon is obviously wrong. Just look at the picture on p.89. I remeber this from many years ago when AMR produced a kit of this car. (Steve, you'll probably remember this one) The colour is marone, which is Italian for brown. Although I do accept that it is a funny brown, but I don't detect any maroon in it. There's a good colour photo on. 18 of the Alan Lis book.

It's disappointing. I looked forward to this book for months. I thought Pritch was pretty well regarded. The GTO book will make me think twice before I buy his Palawan book that's coming out soon.

Hey guys, I'm sort of new here, but have been reading this thread for a while. I just wondered if anyone has an F50 brochure that has the number in it. I have the brochure and it does not have a number, anyone know what the story could be? Also, I'm not sure, but I might sell it, have not made up my mind. Does anyone know what they are selling for these days? I should add that mine is the carbon covered version, flawless condition.

Also, what is that Ferrari book that came out not long ago that comes in a leather luggage case? There are some pictures of it on the 1st and 2nd page of this thread?

I have the carbon fibre F50 Brochure. It doesn't have an individual number. Not sure what the going rate is these days.

The other sounds like the limited edition of Massini's Vignale book.

He has since many years a very impressive turn over of new books he writes, I think there is no other like this, may be Karl Ludvigsen. That's perhaps the reason why not all of his books have the same in depth research one could find in books which take years to research. That's the compromise one has to accept when writing a lot of books.
