    Looks good, Remund.

If your 308 leaks, don't forget to cover the truck too.

No leaks, thank god. The lift came with 4 drip trays. Nice to keep it high and dry, and away from the kids

Most are made in China, and many US retailers simply import them and slap on their own sticker. Study the design and construction and you'll see that the Chinese-made ones are pretty much all the same. You'll know it's made in China when you look at the bolts, for example, and they all are different with non-standard markings.....and seem to be made from cheese.....

I looked at a lot of different lifts and the number of them that had a 6' 9" inch clearance under the runways was limited. I don't like buying anything not made in the USA but after inspecting the the lifts I was happy with the design and quality of the DirectLift plus 8. I'm not operating it that often and the quality is very good. The 308 is far from the 8000 Lb limit. I installed the lift myself and it's far from cheap, each runway is about 400 lbs. The cables and pulleys are good quality as well. If had to use it several times a day for 5-10 years then I may have gone with something else.

Very nice, Germans know how to build them. I looked for a used one but not to many out there, got his one new for $2,200. Now I just need a TR or Boxer to take advantage of the motor out the bottom. Been wondering if it would be a good idea to place 1/16 inch wood paneling under each of bases to distribute the load across floor more evenly.

Thanks, 133" the beam is the problem.. I concidered striping the sheetrock of it to give a little more clearance, just not sure if they framed around it, I think it may be an I-Beam

This was my cheet sheet I used while I shopped for a lift.

    115.5 floor to beam
    133 floor to ceiling
    17.5 ceiling to beam bottom

    47 top runway to ceiling
    29.5 top runway to beam
86 top of runway to Floor
Space between top of runway and beam 29.5
    Car 164" bump to bump
136 Rear bump to lowest forward clearance point(29 - rear-headlight grills)
    146 back wall to beam
    car to roof 43.5
distance from floor to roof of top car at max lift 129.5
Car backed on lift to the rear wall will have 1.5" - 2.5" clearance to beam at max lift.
    Denali is 74" inches tall.

Same for me. And I have put a Ford Explorer on it for maintenance work. After the fact I was glad I did the installation myself as I now have a very good working knowledge of the lift. Also helps with maintenance which I wouldn't be surprised many folks ignore.

Remund, sounds like you're in good shape there. Yup, 8,000lb lift should give plenty of service life. I did similarly with a 9,000lb rated lift, supposedly made in the USA, but I highly suspect it's actually made somewhere closer to Beijing....

    Uh, translate for me, please:

    * what's the distance from floor to ceiling?? Wondering if something like this might work in my garage, which does not have a high ceiling.

The 133 inches is the distance of the the garage ceiling to the floor. The towers height is about 96 inches. The lift is also "Certified"..what ever that means. Here seethe actual loft dens.

If your shopping for one, note mine is a little different in that it has taller columns for more clearence. You may be better suited with the regular DirectLift if your ceiling is lower. The other nice feature of these four post lifts are the caster wheels, they allow you to move the lift around to different position in the garage. I 've seen some guys roll them right out of the garage. Would make for a fun tune-up party..
