Oil Seal Install on Crankshaft (timing belt side)

    eulk328 - This is a new thread since the title you used was specific to the back side of the crank. Thought a new thread would make the 'timing belt side' info easier to find with the search engine.

    Anyway...

    This 1-1/2"x2" reducer works great to press the seal into place on the front side if the crank. The pic shows the crank nose bolt & washer of a TR in place. The 1-1/2" black pipe is cut to length to allow the crank bolt to be used as a press.

    The black pipe combo creaked a bit, but did not fracture. Use safety glasses with this one! Works great - pushes the seal in place nice & straight.

    Wound up using greased business cards on the seal to keep everything in place as it pressed in as suggested by carguy here:
