I am replacing my old exhaust with a Capristo Stage 3 exhaust. I have a 1995 355 Berlinetta. The Capristo has an additional fitting near the flange on the top bypass intake that the old exhaust does not have. Does anyone know what this is and what I should do with it? Does the 5.2 have a fitting that is not on my 2.7?

The first picture below is of the old exhaust and the last two are of the Capristo exhaust.

That's for a thermocoupler, if yours does not have it then just cap it off

What glen said, it's for thermocouple so just cap it. But before you do put some anti-seize on the threads.

Cap it. I have a 95 and Capristo (sound level 1) with no outlet like that.

I have the same exhaust and car, with Hypers and Fabspeed headers. SO LOUD!! I love the Prius crowd's looks of disdain here in lovely Northern California. Enjoy the new shriek.

To be honest, there is no comparison. The Capristo is all that I had hoped for. I had test pipes with the Quicksilver so it was louder at low rpm, but not as sweet at the high rpm. I put the cats back on with the Capristo. It is actually quieter at idle and with the bypass valve closed, but once the bypass valve opens up...OMG! The Capristo is more of an off and on sound.

I will get some videos, but it will be awhile as I have some long hours coming up at work and then rain in the forecast.

That is great! Could I interest you in coming out for one of the FOG drive and breakfast? It would be great to have stereo nero 355 Capristos! :)

I have a Tubi in my 97 355. If I were to go with a Capristo. Are there adjustments or tunning/setup that needs to be done, or just a straight swap ?. I just recently bought a 355. I am curious what is involved.

I actually had the opposite issue. My Nouvalari exhaust did NOT have the Thermocouple port. I therefore disconnected the sensor and removed it from the car. Are there any repurcussions of doing so? The car's (F355, 1998, 5.2) check engine light was on prior to me doing this and I have not had it reset since, so I'm uncertain of the effects it may have. The car runs and sounds awesome and I believe the bypass valve is working normally. Would disconnecting the thermocouple possibly trigger the Check Engine light in the future (once I reset it) or cause any other issues?

In same boat as you. '99 5.2 with level 2 Capristo and Hyperflows.

No port on Cappy so just tied off (did not disconnect) the thermocoupler and no CE lights whatsoever before nor after the install 3 years ago.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the hardest...how difficult was the swap? Sounds awesome btw.

More time consuming than difficult. It took awhile to find some basic information such as jack points http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=230774&highlight=jack+points+355,
lug nut torque settings (I found 70 to 85, it set them at 80)
This tread also helped for the bumper removal
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=268033&highlight=remove+rear+bumper+355
    and muffler removal
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=279551&highlight=remove+rear+bumper+355

This was the first time I have worked on my 355 since I bought it a year ago. I spent a lot of time running around getting tools and looking for the plug outlined in this tread above, several hours, and I took off the straight pipes and put the cats back on. Altogether, it took me about 10 hours. For someone that knew what they were doing it is probably a couple of hour job, it that. I did it by myself. It would have been helpful to have another pair of hands (ie one person to hold the exhaust and another to bolt it on).

I also put on the standard wireless remote control for the bypass valve. Most of the time was finding the correct parts to hook into. The actual job is less than an hour. For anyone putting on a Capristo, I would recommend this as you can have that "Capristo sound" all the time for the drives where you want it.

I have more details and photos if anyone is interested.

My solution was not ideal, but during the weekend. I could not find the metric cap. I ended up getting a female/female fitting that was metric on one side and standard on the other end. They had a standard plug that screwed into the female/female fitting. I found these at an auto parts store. I used mild thread locker so they would not vibrate out.
