Well if they stand by there word on (below) this maybe not be the case, I'am personally not a fan of team orders, but I accept the fact you cannot police the rule effectively.

    You mean:
Massa gets lucky because Vettel squeezes Alonso to the wall and inherits the lead he didn't have all weekend long...

F1 allowed team orders for over 5 decades. Nothing wrong with that. And just to remind everybody: in the fifties team leaders even took over the car from the #2 driver during the race if need be

They should have ordered Barrichello publicly flogged for causing the fuss that led to the ban in the first place.

I guess this means Horner officially has a sixth of the grid to arrange if need requires. Nice ;).

Yes. That's F1. It always has been, and it always will be a team sport. The fact that your fave driver is asked to slow down is part of that sport.

    Now you know.

Can't leave well enough alone, can you?
Now we have the prospect of cross-team orders.

Go stand in the corner :D

IMHO team orders add a layer of complexity and sophistication to the sport which makes it that much more interesting.

You may rejoin the rest of the class now ;)

We had cross team orders for a while. Earliest I remember was the title fight between MS and Villeneuve where there was speculation that Sauber (powered by Ferrari) would help MS in the last race. They didn't.

Fact is that team orders are rarely in play simply because you rarely have the kind of situation where your #2 driver is ahead of #1 and right in front of him to let him through.

There is a reason #2 drivers are #2. That's because on average they're slower than #1.

That's fair enough, I don't mind as long as the #2 has a fair crack of the whip with car set up ect.

And a chance to improve himself against his #1.

And besides the fact I like a underdog winning sometimes.

And that's where it really counts and where the public mostly doesn't see what's going on.

RedBull has been touting its sodacan horn all season long about how fair they are and that they don't use team orders. Yet when it really mattered, the golden boy Vettel got the new parts and not Webber. Hypocrites of the highest order!

Oh and btw: RedBull management did use teamorders in Turkey. But Webber's engineer didn't bother to tell them to his driver.

    Lies breed more lies.
F1 is promoted as the pinnacle of motor sport, geared to the more sophisticated fan. Why do people feel the need to dumb it down?

Because of the sound LOL or the one's who whimper about the cars not looking as good as a previous year's rendition, not true F1 fans IMHO.

We all know that real F1 fans can be as rabidly irrational as any bunch of fans but we have our standards! Our arguments may be silly but our polemics are quite sophisticated.
