I always liked old photos of the 3500 GT which shows cars with their early owner(s). To start with this post this pics here. 1st photo shows the son of US-Astronaut Walter Schirracleaning the car for his Dad (chassis-no. is unknown). 2nd/3rd photo shows a car in the USA. Chassis-no. is unknown. 4th photo is a lovely promotion-shot by the Factory. (all this photos above are found on the Internet!) 5th photo shows the German brewery King Herr Walde, who owned his 3500 GT for some years until he purchased a Mercedes 300 SL Roadster. His Maserati was propably chassis #980 or #1872 (a very late VIN for a 1st Series car?). © ph.: Walter Bäumer Collection So if anybody has very early photos of 3500 GT -but only together with persons!!- I would appreciate to see them here in this thread. Walter, the driver in black and white photo shares a striking resembeance to Juan Manuel Fangio,...is it him??? ~Ciao
Yep, the car was delivered by him! The owner, Sig. Boglietti, sits on the co-driver side. Ciao! Walter
I am guessing that is Sig Alfieri standing next to the driver and Omar Orsi in the back seat. Ciao, FGM
Frank, yep, Alfieri stands on the driver`s side. But its not Orsi on the rear-seat! Not sure if this is Jean Behra...! Ciao! Walter
No idea where the car is today! The owner, Sig. Boglietti, later faced financial trouble and didn`t pay taxes for his car. So the registration was cancelled! Ciao! Walter
...this is #101.318 in the late 60s in the USA! OK, not a photo with persons around -as requested by me in this thread- but a nice and funny pic! ph.: © Walter Bäumer Collection Ciao! Walter Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Bertone 3.5 after I restored the car in the late 1980's. I then shipped it to Turin Italy where Nucio Bertone proudly displayed it in his showroom for one year. Of special note is the carpet which is much different than the normal 3.5. Note the missing jack plugs. Here is is shown with hub caps. We originally put it on wires, but decided it looked better with hub caps. What do you think? Ciao, FGM Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep, the carpet, It looks like loop pile or square weave this was as per the original? what about the trunk, was that also carpeted from Bertone? or did you guys make an upgrade? I've seen the car in person, looks very good. Is the car now living in Hawaii?
