    What a refreshingly candid description.

    Appears to be a Euro-car.
    No AC, wrong knock-offs.

If I see it correctly, the speedometer reads in Km. So, I guess it has lower miles than stated.

For a car that has a correct and complete interior and matching engine number, it seems like a decent asking price.

And I agree on the description - nice to see frankness.

No kidding. I guess it's just a hefty dose of CYA on their part. Looks nice in the photos but I suppose in real life?...

Maybe with the "imperfections", just drive it as daily driver and not worry. ;)

Is that the right alternator for that car? It looks like a delco unit. Also, is that the normal brake fluid reservoir setup?

To me at least the wix oil filters, which are at least good filters.

Although a Lucas alternator is the original equip w/ a delco at least you can use the lights, cooling fans and wipers at the same time ;o).

And no the booster and fluid bottles are not originals.

This car was offered by Thorobred MotorCars in 2001 w/ mags. The 330 Register has no records prior to 01. As Bob Z mentioned it is a Euro.

Has anyone seen that type of luggage/parcel area behind the seats?

To my relatively untrained eye, all the modifications look to be executed by someone knowledgeable in the art of making a generic car run properly, not in making a ferrari get lots of points on a concourse.

Wix filters are good filters but not the right color, the delco alternator lets you charge the battery while driving at night with the blower running, etc. I'm not sure these are in themselves warning signs -- at least someone's been replacing things as they broke, and hopefully someone who doesn't break more than they fix while they're "fixing" things...

I'd drive it if it weren't such a terrible color.

    Terry,

Though I like it I have never seen the leather shelf on a GTC. Now that I see it I might even consider it one day for my car. A couple of years ago another GTC owner was asking others if they might want to join together to have a "batch" of specialty luggage that would fit this rear [carpeted] shelf area. With this leather shelf concept a nice combo could be created...... a leather shelf w/ matching luggage.

Yes.........I know the purists will frown upon these blasphemous thoughts. Guess I am not in that camp. To me the better I can make my GTC the more useful it becomes. I want to crank up the mileage!!

Not to hijack this thread, but I've had thoughts about custom luggage for my 365 GTC. I would appreciate being added to a list for this effort, if anyone is keeping one.

I had one of these for 20+ years, and resored it in my garage. While I have never seen the rear luggage leather arrangement, don't be so sure it is not original. I say this for three reasons: 1 - The rest of the car looks damn original (except the brake/clutch fluid reservoirs - BTW, the originals are available and it would not be hard to return these to original), 2 - Adding that leather shelf after the car was new would have cost a small fortune, and 3 - This is a pretty low serial number GTC, and Pininfarina would still do 'special' stuff for clients when it was built. I know this for a fact as my car (8727, now long gone) had a host of unusual features.

To me, if it runs good, it is a reasonable deal.

Steve - that was me.....my investigation got stalled by health issues.
I would restart it.....but I think you were the only other owner who indicated a desire to go further....I was going to mock up some shapes in foam/cardboard and get some pricing from 2 UK shops, and 1 in Italy. Still interested, but currently in the midst of finishing a multi-year boat restoration which is consuming all of my remaining energy!
Happy to crank it up in the spring.....(or let someone else have the glory!)
