I am trying to find a proper solvent to strip the under leather padding on a center console surround for my Fcar and to strip the adhesive glues from an emergency brake cover surround. Ive removed all the leathers and want to clean them for prep for recover with carbon Fiber. Im not sure what to use to either A. remove the glues and scrape the foam padding off or B. try to find one that will remove both but not damage the underlying plastic/composite material.
    Any suggestions welcome.

Try Goo Gone, or Goof Off. They're both essentially the same thing as I recall. They're mild solvents that work great on things like glue residue, but won't harm any plastic I've gotten it on. I've seen them in both Orchard Supply Hardware and Home Depot.

I've always found goof-off to be stronger than goo-gone so be careful...
