Peter we all owe you a huge THANKYOU for your time and efforts. We appreciate you for being very thorough and fast...Great job!
Peter, any pics of the rear of the car where the fire accurred? The photo from the street doesn't even seem to show any discolor to the rear bumper. Do you know the milage?
from the pics of the side it looks to me the car has an uncorrect model wing....i do not know if this will make much of a difference
Hi All, Is it me or is the door sill a different color leather that the rest of the int.? I'm not a history expert, but I don't recall noticing any with diffferent color shades.
That engine shot is one of the best odd photos. You cant make this up. Someone should ask Peter to make it a 2011 calendar picture for the month of December! Then other with the rotten pick up next to it would be for January. There are even junk stuff in the back of that pickup so it is safe to assume it is usaed as a garbage bin. Does not bode well for the CT.. As far as a meet... it would be lovely but not sure the Foxwood Make A Wish or Farmington will match.. We should probaly change place and go to the "Blue Parrot" in Southington...
His name is Randy. I feel like **** for stereotyping and the guy could be really cool. I told him about this board......so hopefully he has a sense of humor. I wanted to keep in touich via email....he got no email.....so not sure he'll take my advise and come here and ask questions. He was asking where to bring it for work, one place I said was Wil Degroot and hopefully he will get it there. He did ask me if the gap with the wing is normal. I said it must be an adjustable one. I will stop over in the future. Will get the VIN BUT I'M GOING AND WILL DRAG PATRICK AND PETE WITH ME......yup gonna drag your a$$es there with me and have some fun hahahahahahaahahahah
Also there is a slight dark mark on the rear maybe the size of an egg. No other visable but I could not see down below. He's there is. But doesn't look like much. Definitely not fire dept worth.....more like bucket of water.
meh, more power to him. I live in a cheap old house 4 miles from work, but i do have a garage, and lots of privacy. I dont think its right to go judging the guy, but i do agree i would not let it sit outside in that snow.
that is the point.. I never seen a true enthusiast leaving a rough running car in the snow outside right next to a rusted truck full of garbage and snow on the engine. I agree some people dont like houses although, one may question the values priorities. Nice guy or not, this car is gonna rot the way it is..
http://jalopnik.com/5720573/why-this-lamborghini-is-parked-outside-for-the-winter Did they contact the poster of the photos to ask permission?
Agree. I remember a real Countach that sat next to a (nice) trailer right at the GA / SC border. Car was also a bit of a conversation starter, including the local police looking into the guys funds, background . Turns out he had money, and other property in other States. In short, it was none of anybody's business, and he had done nothing illegal. Totally agree on the tragedy of the car outside in the snow, but its his car, and I respect his right to do "whatever" with it. I guess you cant expect much privacy with a Countach. I had the pleasure of access to a freinds black on black 85 Countach here in Savannah. The attention the car garnered was a huge turn off to the experience. Sometimes you just want to "drive" and be left the hell alone.
Something about it makes me think it is a replica...You'd think that if he had $100,000 he'd be able to afford a garage, or at least a cover...
I disagree..just cause the car "cost" a 100K..does not make everyone baby over it and cheerish it... My 2010LP670-4SV was closer to 500K..and I drive the hell out of it..park outside at nights many times, park it at the mall, go through McDonalds drive in with it and YES even drive it in rain as well as snow all winter long with its snow tires affixed on it.. You have to remember 1) It is JUST a car 2) Everyone has differnt values 3) Pleasure for material things are enjoyed in many differnt ways by the user and, after all, it his money and his car..he can do as he pleases Kind of funny side note..I OFTEN get people tell me it is such a shame to have my car out in weather, or to have it parked in front of the grocery store..so I started nicely asking.. "So you would not do this if it were your car?" And of course always get the HELL no answer.. But then when I say "Ok, buy it from me and you can take it home to your garage now that you own it..." 99 out of a 100 answers.. "Oh no, that costs more then my house, I cant afford it" So not to be mean..BUT then WTF are you "second guessing" what I do with my hard earned money and the way I choose to spend it and enjoy it...
I'm with Roy on this one......I just bought an old Mercedes AMG SEC that was really used up for $1500, and it had records including the original sticker for $101K back in the eighties! That's almost what a Countach cost back then. I asked him why it was in such tough shape..... He told me his dad bought it new, and gave it to him many years later after college graduation. He also said..."sorry about the condition, but my dad and I really wanted to get ours money's worth, and believe me, we did! He showed me the pictures that he wanted to keep of it in its glory days, and over the years, and he said the experiences and memories are priceless. Not driving it hard and keeping it cherry for all those years might have made it worth more today, and he said that is nothing compared to priceless fun and experiences they had with it. I don't feel bad for the car, but I felt good those guys had so much fun with it for over 20 years until it was worn out! I just wish it could speak and tell me all the stories!
Because WAY to many people want to force what they believe to the correct on everyone else. Like you say Roy if you want to look at it buy a poster its his car, so what if he leaves it outside his choice. Im just glad its a 25 my least favorite Countach.
When I win lotto for over $10MM, I'll buy the cannonball countach and rev it in the middle of town with no oil. then i'll have it douzed with gasoline and burned on site after the engine explodes. These are the small pleasures in life that money can buy. There is a big difference in driving an expensive car the way you want to enjoy it versus letting it sit with no plates with snow all over it because you dont have a garage near your shed, but that is just me. I know the political correctness for not judging is ever present. I am no redneck but frankly this is quite a turn off site and i think one has the right to judge based on this. Let push this to a more extreme scenario: That reminds me of a French signer in the 60s. He used to burned the biggest money bills on the talk shows for fun and attention. It was his money alright and he had plenty but he failed to respect the fact he was blessed to have money while many were dying of hunger and deceases in Africa at the time. The word for this is decency and respect for those who dont have what you have by respecting what you have. Sure he could do whatever he wanted with his money but to me he was an A.H despite being a nice guy otherwise. ah! I feel better!. now back to snowed cover lambos..
money doesnt buy you class! looks like its going to end up like this 63 split window.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The house needs lots of work. Now he has a Countach. That would be very rough on the wallet and a marriage. To give him credit, it is a good size property though. I think on the left side of the house is a garage and an old barn.
I dont think it is correct to BURN money, or burn a car (Chevy or countach) in town, or to leave a car out in the snow like this.. But that is not the pioint..you are missing it here.. YOU do NOT have the right nor the all mighty power of god TO CONDEM HIM AND HIS FOR HE IS DOING...YOU HAVE BUT TWO CHOICES.. 1) Buy the car out from under him and do as YOU wish 2) Smile, and say oh well not for me BUT IT AINT MINE! And of course the last thing you can do, is jump on a band wagon and start making all kinds of assumptions and putting "him" into catagorys like "redneck" his marriage will fail et etc.. The last time that was done..I think it was started by a guy named HITLER...and that finished off just wonderfully..
Not the first countach i've seen stored out in the snow... there was a guy in Chicago that kept one at the end of his driveway.... never moved in 4 years. Did I say this was in Chicago?
