I went last year and has a fantastic time.
I booked last year in March and had great seats for my first time there
I would love to have the same section just over a few sections and down a few rows

Am I too late to Book??
Anyone book yet or get tickets yet?

Last year I booked my tickets in April I believe and I got what I thought were decent seats. I'm holding off this year to see if my back issues clear up enough for me to go. If it doesn't then there would be no way I could manage to do all that walking.

Not to rain on your parade but the general admission tickets to me seemed like a complete waste of money. Unless you get there at 5 in the morning its going to be incredibly difficult to get a good view of the track. It seemed like most people who had general admission tickets only went to party and get drunk. People were actually sitting behind my grandstand trying to look at the track through all the scaffolding. There just isn't a good place to view the track with general admission.

Yeah unfortunately I did get that impression reading prior year threads but it was a surprise gift to me so I didn't have a lot of input. I'll still make the best of it!

If you have general admission one spot (and its small) is at the hairpin. There is a short set of steps leading up to the seats on the exit of the hairpin (section 24) and on this small kind of hill next to the steps you will get a good view of the cars coming into the hairpin. It is true that most of the "general admission" types are just coming to the event just to be there; not to really watch the event. This spot will accomodate 15 or 20 people and is its most crowded on Race Day and during Quali.

The upside of this is that you can always buy a ticket from scalpers or someone who is looking to sell a seat that was excess to their needs. They hang around at the exit of the Metro (subway) and there is always a half dozen buyers and sellers there. Take it from someone with experience, you probably could nail a nice seat for face value or less on Saturday or Sunday. Worst case, you use your GA ticket.

Awesome info, thanks for that! I was assuming that we would try the GA ticket on Friday and see how it goes, depending on what we feel like we could always get scalped tickets.

Those of you that have been, what grandstand section would you recommend?

    Section 21 - 24 - 15....(ie Hairpin).

Or anything near the Senna Curve Section 11 and 12.

I have been to the race many times, and every year the seats get more expensive, and more crowded. When you are crammed into the bench seats between 5000 other people, and the sun or rain is beating down on you, it makes you regret spending the money for the tickets sometimes.

General admission is not that bad....at least you have the freedom to walk around and get some drinks, you can still see the cars and Jumbo screens from various points on the track.
I think general admission is $70...compared to $240 for decent grand stand tickets.

FYI - tickets have been on sale for a few weeks, so you better act fast before the good seats are gone.
