Count me as a Nate AND Nick Diaz fan, and noted on this board a few times. Their shtick is lame, but they are actually decent sports and excellent fighters!

Nate needs to go back down to 155 though - he's outclassed at 170. Dong Hyun Kim might be undefeated, but he's not in the league of the top guys, and he controlled the whole fight.

Nobody else would take the fight. 19 seconds....Duffee had no business in that ring with Overeem. Love to see him up against Cain or JDS.

How bout that knee Aoki took? Out cold for 3 minutes. Nasty.

The **** is only getting deeper for Sonnen. Now he's legal trouble for pleading guilty to money laundering. Read it here. It will be interesting to see how the UFC handles this issue with him. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets cut. Unbelievable.

What a punk. Didn't I read an article in the UFC magazine last year about how he was so critical of fighters? And didn't he talk about wanting to go into politics. . . . typical.

Man that knee from Sakurai was devistating!!! I guess Aoki leaves himself wide open when he goes for that takedown.

SF is throwing down the gauntlet in HW competition! Take THAT UFC! A tournament style competition on Feb 12 with the Reem vs Werdum, Fedor vs Big Foot, Rogers vs Barnett and Arlovsky vs Sergei Kharitonov. Man I can't wait for this action. My money is on the Reem going right through anyone in his way. Is there a busier HW out there? He fought K-1, Dynamite and then less than 2 months later in SF. He's in top shape, doesn't appear to be hurting at all and he's on quite a roll currently. This will be awesome.

My sentiments exactly. I've been waiting for something like this for a LONG time and I hope we get to see Overeem/Fedor

Unfortunately with those pairings the finals will be anti-climatic. The 4 best are all in the same bracket. Bummer! Not too well thought out IMHO.

Hopefully we'll see Fedor/Overeem in the semis. This is a great event, one of the best I can recall. I wouldn't mind seeing Fedor meet up with Arlovski in the finals, as I think Arlovski had something going in their 1st fight, before he decided to try a flying knee.

Those eggheads at SF should have flip-flopped Barnett/Rogers with Fedor/Big Foot to have a chance at setting up Fedor/Overeem in the finals. Why bother watching the finals when the best match ups are in the quarter and semis and all in one bracket to boot? Big gaffe by SF IMHO. Hopefully they'll come to their senses and change this before the event. What I get a kick out of is that the UFC, for all it's grandeur, doesn't really have the depth at HW to even pull something like this off if they even wanted to.

I don't know about that.........I could see the UFC having Velasquez, Lesnar, Carwin, Mir, Nelson, Dos Santos, Nogueira, and for the 8th spot, I'd maybe throw in someone like Schaub or Mitrione for some new blood. That's leaving out guys like Herring, Struve, Cro-Cop, and Kongo.

They would never do a tournament though. It's hard to pull off, just having all of the fighters healthy enough to fight on the same night.

    Exactly.

    Nelson - Contract dispute
    Cain - Hurt
Lesnar - may not fight in MMA again.
    Carwin - Hurt

That's what I meant about not having the depth. But interestingly I believe SF's tournament is not a true Grand Prix style event ala K-1 as all those fights I believe are not slated to happen on the same night.

Well squash the Lesnar leaving MMA BS with him and JDS as TUF 13 coaches. This should be interesting.

Also looks like first up for Pettis is Guida. Great match up.

That's kinda odd that Lesnar will be a coach, as he doesn't have that much MMA experience and has what... 5-6 fights under his belt? The kids he's coaching will have more experience than him.....

How much time did Rampage spend on actual coaching? I could probably count the minutes on a single hand.

I think your wrong. As awkward as he is, He's a tough MF'er. He hung in there with a seasoned veteran. I enjoyed the show. Matt Mitrione is gonna be VERY GOOD if he wants to. Melvin G. Wow, he is scary good now that he's training with the Jackson camp. I 'd LOV to see him fight Pettit.

Wrong? Didn't he loose? He hung in there with a seasoned veteran that is NOT in the top 20 in the LW division and got put to sleep. Just like I said, he stands no chance against any of those guys in the upper ranks of that division unless he gets much better.

He needs to fight Clay Guida next---they can call it the Battle of the Hair
