Ok, maybe I got a little overexcited there, but the Philadelphia Car show is coming to town. Who wants to go to the car show on Monday January 31st. I was thinking of cutting out of work early, or going at lunchtime, etc. PS- there is a possibility I will organize this thing and than have to bail, as we are expecting our second child around February 4th.
You need at least 15 exclamation points for over excited. I think I can go. Is there a web link that will say what will be on display? The Sentra can hold three adult passengers, so maybe a car pool?
Joe: I actually got tickets for the show for Christmas! Would you guys be interested in meeting up? C&C Philly Auto Show edition .
phillyautoshow dot com . . . I should have guessed! Thanks! No Ferraris! No Lotus! Actually I think the car show Lotus are ugly (Shhh...don't tell anyone in the Lotus club I said that). I would like to see some Fcars though. Maybe a trip to Algar when JoeMac buys another one next month.
Of course. The more the merrier. If you are looking for a New York style auto show, you will be VERY disappointed. Most of the exotics that are there are courtesy of FC Kerbeck. In the past, Algar would bring some F-cars, but none of the exotic marques, except maybe Maybach for a little while there, have ever had a bonafide presence. Still, there are worst things to do than spend an afternoon surrounded by cars. I find these shows fascinating because they are a window into the design philosophies of different marques, as well as their countries of origin...but hey, I am a HUGE geek.
CONGRATS JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NEW BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don, you have a better shot at seeing me buy a Kia off the floor of the Auto Show than buyimg another car at Algar next month. My bank is asking questions about all these car purchases and I gave them Francis's name at Algar as my co-conspirator! As for my attending, it's a dull maybe. Had a great time with all the boys last year, including a great dinner in the city afterwards, but it caused me to go buy my Denali Hybrid. I'm not going anywhere near a car buying opportunity until Spring....well, maybe April. OK, March at the earliest!!! Oh, dammit, I will go!!! Blindfolded until we walk past Ford, Chrysler and Cadillac. No chance I would be lured into purchasing any of that crap!
Glad that you can make it. I think a trip to Mahogany's for Cigars and dinner afterwards would definitely be in order. Regarding your ever diminishing taste in cars ...One of the main reasons I want to go is to check out the new Ford products, especially the Explorer! Ford is having a real renascence. The build quality, interior materials, technology, safety, and reliability are about as good as anything coming out of Germany right now. The new Explorer looks stunning in pictures. Time to trade in that Denali and get a Ford!
That's a mixed message, Joe. I'll talk Deb (the wife) into picking up Brandon (the kid) from school - I haven't had a cigar dinner for too long. Don (the car geek)
I was wondering when F'chat's own Statler and Waldorf were going to chime in Image Unavailable, Please Login
No. Just a patriotic American On behalf of the UAW, I have been asked to reach out to you. As you know the American car industry grew 11% in December. The UAW is confident that with your assistance, they can grow exponentially in the coming year. They heard what you did for Ferrari, and they want a piece of the action I am just the messenger...
The last time I attended the Philly Auto Show Chevrolet was selling the Vega. I can't deside which is uglier. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's amazing after all the crap they have been through and they are still producing vehicles at that level of styling. It's maybe a step up from the Pontiac Aztec.
I will be a returning regular. Hanging with the boys is worth the price of admission. Jon in Delaware
