I just hit Level 25 in b-spec and well, now its raining on some of my b-spec races! I love it! Will this carry over to a-spec or do I have to wait until I get to 25 in it also?

Yes, i had rain in the Super GT and Dream Car championships. Dont forget to put rain tires before the start, the computer always forget, so they will limp down for 1 lap until they get back to the pits..and you can easily lap them that way.

Eric.......thanks again for the X-1! The thing is freaking ridiculous!

I used it for B-spec, the endurance race at Indy....it lapped the field by the 5th lap!

Having said that, it is just about undriveable, at least by me. Maybe because I use a controller instead of a steering wheel? As an example, the speed at which this thing can transition from a left to right through a chicane is so fast that I can't physically move my thumb that fast from one side of the joystick to the other. Also, turn-in is so fast, it's very hard to modulate with the controller. I have to try it with a steering wheel.

Anyone who can drive this thing to it's potential is one impressive driver. Mastering a car like this will take a lot.

    No problem.

I really don't like the X1 much. Unrealistically quick, it actually take the fun out of GT5. I'm only using it for the B-spec Endurance races. I tried driving it once around Indy and I hated it. I don't know if I'm even going to bother with the A-spec Endurance races once I complete the Extreme series.

I've adjusted the gearbox & suspension for both tracks but the Toyota 7 & Chaparral 2J car still get quite a lead on me. (In Monaco, I'm getting rammed into the wall!) I'm getting past the the 330P4 without issues but B-spec bob can't. I'm willing to give it a try then return it back to you.

What helped me beat Monaco A-spec was taking the lead by the first turn. Once in the lead you should be able to hold off the Toyota and Chaparral. If you don't get the lead by the first turn then I'd restart the event.

The trick with B-spec is to pace him down before you reach the turn at the end of the tunnel and on the last turn before the start finish line. If you don't he will hit those corners almost every time slowing you down.

Also make sure you are using a low top gear setting for Monaco, I had it set around 186MPH.

I'll try to send you the P4 this weekend, you don't need to return it since I'll just restore my game save.

I borrowed the Chaparral 2D, which is the lesser car compared to the 2J, but it is all you need: Set the transmission to the highest attainable speed (but not more) and you have car at your disposal that cannot be beaten.

I bought an 8C, just changed the exhaust and lightened it, all aids off, it's a pleasure to drive sideways.

The film runs a lot faster, doesn't it?

It took me a while to adjust. Similar to the open racer in DiRT2.

But once you hone your brain and reflexes anything slower becomes child's play. The LFA felt like a tractor afterwards :)

I just placed first at Forest Hill but can't do better than second at Monaco. I've been going back & forth with the Mark IV & 74 Countach's settings again but just can't get in front of the 2J. That thing is just too fast!

The Formula GT is by far the best actual racing I've done on the game so far. It's kinda long, but very fun. I was going to loan the FGT to somebody but forgot who it was. If anybody needs it, add me (latsyrc8).

    Awesome, thanks!

I'm currently doing 24hr of Le Mans B-spec in the X2010. Just lapped them by lap 3! That thing is insane, and I haven't even touched the settings other than soft tires.

What do you guys use to win the Monaco race in B-spec Professional? The historical race... My Toyota 7 is awesome, but the track is so tight that my driver almost never pass the other cars!

Still not done the NASCAR races on Extreme. I hate hate hate those fat pigs. Is there any difference between the NASCAR cars...? Or are they all just the same?

amenasce: Yes, it's extreme! I was having trouble using it in an oval track, haha... But I agree with Eric W, it takes the fun out of the game. It's so unbeatable at the races it can attend, it gets really boring.
What you should do is that you should use the car in B-spec - this is perhaps the only car my crappy B-spec driver drives much better than me. I drove the Nürburgring (with many, many crashes) in 5:45-ish time, he drove it in just under 5:00! Amazing.
You'll get used to the X2010 too. My first time at Monza with it gave me a time of 1:18, but after five laps I was down to 1:13, so it's a lot of potential once you understand how you should drive it. As far as I understand, it's better to accelerate through corners (it will suck to the ground) than brake :S

Is your driver's personality ice cold, medium cold, medium hot, or hot? I'm guessing he's Ice cold like Mika Hakkonnen. A Hot driver is more likely to pass when you ask him to, a cold driver is more likely to put down good lap times unattended; and very unlikely to pass. You have to cool him down in the tunnel too.

I actually prefer my drivers have a hotter temper but I'm not entirely sure on how much of a difference it makes.

From what I've read, a driver with a cooler temper doesn't get overheated very quickly but when he does it's harder to calm him down. But a driver with a hotter temper can get overheated rather quickly but it's easier to calm him down.

You'll need to test this theory out to see if it's actually true.

    I won the Monaco race!!

I used Toyota 7 with mid racing tires and midrange turbo kit.
Straight after starting I went down to 11th, but didn't care. I found out, after some laps, that my strength was on the uphill straight right after after the first corner from the starting line. Most other cars didn't stand a chance on the 7's squirty acceleration.

    Here's what I did:
On uphill after the first corner (after the starting line): Drive past.
When all the twisties down toward the tunnel came: Chill down.
ASAP when the tunnel straight started: Speed up.
Came down to the waterside where there are more twisties: Chill down.
Wait until the straight came again (the short one where the starting lines are): Speed up.
Back on the uphill again: Drive past.

It worked brilliantly. I also chilled down in the beginning when there were lots of car ahead of me. By doing so, I didn't stress them, and they didn't crash. I finished with 1/4th of the track ahead of the car behind and all chilled out driver :)

Beginner, Amateur, Professional and Expert on B-spec complete! Have doubts about my driver and the Extreme cups though, I barely won the DTM one on B-spec with my Lexus IS-F Race Car Concept and I really suck at the NASCAR races.

    Two questions:

    1) Can I use Red Bull X2010 on FormulaGT cup? I'm at level 22, soon level 23. If so, could anyone kindly borrow me their FormulaGT compatible car?
    2) Is there any noticeable difference between the NASCAR cars?

    Thanks guys, appreciate any input.

Edit: My Expert Gold on B-spec gift ticket gave me the NSX-R Prototype LM Race Car!!! I saw it in the Best Motoring series some years ago and it was pornographicly awesome! NOW I'm happy with the gift I received (next to the Zonda R and the F40). I think I got 4-5 350Z's in various forms this far and I never use them...

No, you can only enter the FGT into the Formula GT cup and all of the NASCAR stock cars are basically the same so just pick one. Since I am a NASCAR fan I chose my favorite driver, Tony Stewart.

    Congratulations on beating Monaco!

Okey, I had heard about Jeff Gordon (the Special stages) and about Montoya (ex-F1 driver). I just went ahead and picked Jeff Gordon's chevy.

Dont let the 2J escape. Try to hit it so it spins out. If you don't catch it by the Casino, restart the race. Once it is behind you, it will never pass you (it is Monaco after all).
