I finally got a copy of Klemantaski & Ferrari by Peter Sachs. It's an excellent record of early Ferrari racing through bright and expressive photographs. As with any great photography book, none of the pictures cross the fold and it has excellent captions.

For 35 € you're right. You will find it a good addition to the Bluemel/Pourret book.

Look for The Ferrari by Rogliatti, then you'll find the (1973) english version of this book for a different price. It's not exactly the same as the Italian!

    Hi Ken,

This is the book mentioned above. See second picture to show this book is based upon "Le Ferrari". Pricetag of the English edition will be a lot less!

I have LONG sought one of those........was it expensive?

I could not afford one when they originally printed.........has Sachs reissued the title???

Klenmentaski was the pinnacle of cool, IMO...

Anyone familiar with the new unauthorized bio? I'm off to the beach and need a good read.
I'm not usually into this sort of stuff but he is fascinating and its by Dr. Sid Watkin's wife.

    Thanks.

My understanding is that it's "authorized." Supposedly BE told Mrs. Watkins that she could speak to anyone or use any resources. I doubt that there's any controversy in the book given the author's connections to BE. Is she even a published author?

Its billed as "semi-authorized" or somesuch. Seems she had approval and access but the "authorization was pulled when the final version was seen.
Or it could be a way to sell more books. With Bernie nothing is as it seems.

I'm looking for suitably trashy vacation reading. ;)

Thanks. I look forward to reading it but it will be out to late for this trip. I have Ludvigsen's book on Chapman and Piola's F1 tech annual but the beach calls for trash ;)

You can take it to Private Messages I might be interested in your book/prints.....

The Brock Yates Enzo bio was printed in pretty large numbers I'm unaware of any 'run up' in value on that title.......

Although not specifically Ferrari-related, one book I picked up recently that might become a collectible is Thunder in the Park, the autobiography of the late Tom Wheatcroft of Donington Park fame.

Published in 2005 by Live Wire Books in England, my copy, which I bought from Amazon's Canadian website, is autographed by the author and is marked 4053/5000, indicating a limited edition.

I didn't buy it for its possible collectible value; I just liked Tom and his racecar museum and wanted to know more about the man and his connections to racing.

Just got my copy of the new book "Ferrari Design The Definitive Study ", and i'm pleased with the results. In the selection of Ferrari books available, it's one of the few that focuses on the design aspect of Ferrari & the relationship with Pininfarina. Very well done, and i would recommend it to those who have the slightest interest in design & Ferrari.

I recently started to look for pencil renderings of Ferrari designs, or watercolour ones.
I know they go back to the first Barchetta but I am afraid that as the latest design students start out designing on computer, the pencil rendering will be as obsolete as the typewriter. So let me know if the book has a dozen at least and I will consider buy it. Autobooks-Aerobooks has a copy but it's sealed to keep the customer's fingers off it, so I hestitate to ask them just to see if it has a sufficient number of drawings as opposed to photographs. Thank you.

Unfortunately it is 100% photos. If you need Ferrari design sketches ,check out back issues of Auto & Design , and Car Styling ( ceased publication).
