Check this supercar showroom in the Netherlands. It is privat collection from 3 persons. http://www.autogespot.com/nl/item/9815/special-supercars-langs-de-a12!.html
No kidding. My stepbrother lives in Franschoek. I've actually been there a few years ago. Why he didn't mention the museum is beyond me...

Do these cars ever get driven? If not, we're effectively looking at the worlds most impressive mausoleum as far as I am concerned...
Wasn't it Ralph Lauren who had his cars terribly overrestored? The cars on this pictures sure look that way...
I've not seen his collection, but only some of his cars during the few times I attended the Monterey weekend. The pre-war luxury cars do tend to look very shiny, perhaps over-restored, but then most of the cars of that category on the lawn of Pebble Beach do tend to look like that. Perhaps that is, or was, the standard at pebble Beach. They are not to my taste (or budget, so this is academic), but then an over-the-top restoration perhaps is not totally out of line for the Isottas, etc., that occupy the ultra-luxury, one-off, no-expense-spared class those cars occupy. On the other hand, the competition Ferraris of Lauren didn't seem over-restored to me. Of course, in comparison to the state of the cars were when they were racing - they were really crudely put together in some areas - Lauren's cars are better finished, assembled, and trimmed and a lot cleaner, but the paint wasn't too shiny and there was little evidence of over-polishing. I didn't see any evidence of chrome or wrong finishes used. I am no expert and this is a dangerous place to display one's ignorance, what with the depth of experience and knowledge to be found here, especially in the vintage section. Others on this forum, experts in the relevant cars, will be able to express a better informed view. Regards to all.
