I could have sworn that there was an earlier thread about George's 275 but the site's search function didn't help me much. Would anyone be able to post some pictures and SN info about his 275? Thanks
I don't have any information sorry! I heard he used to own a Dino and a 365 "Queen Mary"! George Harrison is for me The best song writter ever!
As far as I know, it was black. And the odds are it was one of the few RHD cars with a serial number beginning with 09 in 67.' That's broad strokes, but I don't think much is known about Harrison's 275 GTB/4. _J
There was a book that mentioned an interview that took place in George Harrison's Black 275 GTB/4. And Patti (harrison's wife, later Clapton's), in a different interview, remembered the car. But little else seems to be known.
George Harrison's passion for cars is described in this website: http://unpaseoconlosbeatles.blogspot.com/2010/04/fotos-de-george-harrison-con-los-coches.html There is a picture of George by a 275 GTB at London Airport in 1966.
Funny that the photo at the airport is his platinum '64 Aston Martin DB5, not a Ferrari as incorrectly captioned
Around 1989, I read an interview with Harrison in Rolling Stone;the interviewer wrote that Harrison picked him up at the train station in a black 275 GTB and took him on a white knuckle ride back to his estate.
Are you sure? The wraparound screen looks distinctly 275-ish to me, even if the picture is a bit stretched.
Here we go, sorry I can't attach it - just click the link. Looks like a 275 to me... http://cache4.asset-cache.net/xc/56171542.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=45B0EB3381F7834D6800F2735D0ABEED8A28D183D1F44219A9F0F86B2CFDFE48
It could be. And I thought it was too. But if you right-click on the photo and look at properties it says: georgeastonmartinlondonairport66cro.jpg Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, I agree. The pic was originally much smaller but that doesn't explain the filename georgeastonmartinlondonairport66cro.jpg
Click my link above. It's a black (or at least dark coloured) 275. The original photo is a little over exposed or has had the contrast increased, the one in the link shows a dark car.
Barchetta info on 1965 RHD 275 GTB #07789: http://www.barchetta.cc/english/all.ferraris/Detail/7789.275GTB.htm The car in the pic posted by kaisen (post 14) looks like it has the bonnet hump of a 275GTB/4. Though if it was a 4 cam, which was introduced in late (October?) 1966, the UK tax disc would expire later than January, 1967? Could be reflection.
Picture in Post 14 - that is the raised profile towards the rear of a short-nose bonnet, not the bump of a 4-cam bonnet.
