I really don't know how this compares to the some $300 m dollars that we raised for the Vic bushfires, but I sincerely hope we can match that in most instances- I mean if we can do it once, we can surely do it again!

Bless all those souls who are out there fighting hard, and to those who have donated or wishing to donate; keep it all coming.

I just got back from Brisbane tonight. Torrential rain on the drive up from Gold Coast. My brother lives near Bretts Wharf which is close to airport. Took me 30 minutes to travel what would normally take 10. All roads to the city were gridlocked. I came through the city at 11am and got through OK.

My thoughts are with everyone going through this. Truely shocking and as Karen said, there's the king tide coming in a few days which won't help.

No I didn't get your message Moretts.

Mate, I stayed at Mums for the entire week. We had one dry day, could not be bothered driving in all that rain. Had a rental car for 11 days and did a total of 300km's including the return trip to the GC and back. We basically vegged out watching Foxtel (we don't have it at home) and swam with the boys in the pool. Didn't even go to the beach. On the dry day went to Pacific Fair and Putt Putt in Mermaid Waters. Didn't get to do Movie World or any of the other theme parks.

I visited Paolo after calling him, turns out he lives 100 meters up the road from my Mums so I walked to see him and his 348 which was a beautiful car. Being Italian he and his wife also made a very nice coffee. Even then I got drenched walking back home.

Can't have been on it because I didn't get one for the Xmas just passed. :D

If the weathers better when I come back up I'll be sure to come and see you. You must admit the weather has been very bad in the past week.

My brother reckons Brisbane Airport is quite low and could possibly flood in the coming days???

As it turned out, none of the checked in luggage for the entire passengers on our plane was loaded, its still in Brisbane. Hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow.

Have word of the official death toll. Not yet released to the media. This **** is amazing, I cant believe it...

No one can believe what we have just witnessed. We are completely cut off. Landslides, floods, water damage.

The destruction down town makes you gasp. I went through again at 11pm last night. Heavy fog and drizzle, police lights, and nothing else. Total darkness. Cars washed everywhere. Mud, smashed windows. It was one of the creepiest moments of my life...

The supermarket tonight. No meat, water, long life milk. Bread and fruit gone. Hardly anything else left except confectionery and soft drink. All shops/servos the same...

It's been geting lots of coverage here in the UK. They can't comprehend the scale of the area flooded out. It's been described as the area of France & Germany combined, plus a bit more by now...

Even heard Julia Gillard's whining voice on the radio - couldn't get across to turn it down quick enough.

Good luck to all the Queenslanders and their cars out there...

    Boy oh boy!

Just had a beer after a day of moving cars, sand begging etc.

My buildings were a meter under water in the 74 flood, so will probably be under again tomorrow or Thursday.

Can only sit and wait now.

Have my accountant and his family as house guests as ther house is on the river. They are 12 meters above the river, but it is predicted to get to 14 where they are!

Not a good way to start the year!!!

    Wish me luck!

Lets hope Julia helps out like she does in Indonesia.

Went most of last night without heavy rain so we're spared here today.

Its ridiculous, we've been hovering on the edge of flooding for weeks now in the Clarence Valley.

Floods have,nt stopped the woolies and coles from sticking their adverts on while the news coverage is on.
I wonder how much they donate to the relief fund while spruiking their wares.
