I can tell you that I have friends with 360's,etc... who LOVE the sound of my car. The sound from the exhaust is amazing. For me, the only car that is more intoxicating sound wise is the 430.

Thanks David. Love the silver too although I wish it was still the original 70's gold as it left the factory....! I think with a bit of suspension work these would make fantastic track cars - mine's a little sloppy on track but then so am I ...

Always loved the darker colours too - especially Han's blue.

Completely agree. I still have the original (?) Ansa on mine and it sounds great - of course those Webers help a lot too.

I own both, 79 GT4 and 88 GTS;

The GTS is more refined, smoother, with half working AC (in contrast to just a hamster wheel under the dash) and more modern, however, a GT4 with maintained suspension and equivolent wheels/tires will out handle in the turns the stock 328 all day long. The 328 seems to be faster in the 130-145 range, but gets a bit light in the handling.

But to get back to the discussion of a while back. My ex GF had (has) a 328 GTS. She felt that she couldn't really drive mine as the steering, clutch and shifting were all too heavy for her. She's a petite girl.

I've driven her car a lot too, and quite frankly, it didn't involve me quite as much as the Dino does. It was all too... easy. And at the same time, it didn't talk to me like the Dino does. I could take corners quite fast in it simply because I knew how fast the Dino would allow me to take that corner and extrapolate from that. Not because the 328 would let me know how it was doing. The lay-on-your-back driving position that I had to adopt in order to fit in certainly had something to do with that. The GT4 is so much roomier. Legroom, headroom, shoulder space. In all respects, the GT4 is the more comfortable car by a tremendous margin.

Sound-wise, the US spec 328 with kats and tubi had nothing on the Dino with webers and X-OST. Test pipes would have cured that one, I'm sure.

Would I trade my Dino for 328? Never in a million years. Would I have both? Frankly, I don't think the 328 would get a lot of miles on it. I think I'd save up for a 355 spider in stead... Or use the money to buy a lot of gas...

Mine too was "oro chiro" from the factory according to my heratage certificate. The resale red looks good on her now but if I ever repaint I have seriously considered going back to the original color.

Yes, mine was originally a tan velour/vinyl finish - not very nice really - just tooo much 70's style. Got a second hand black leather one instead. But come on, do yours gold - its such a rare colour and it is closer to original afterall!

Just sharing a thought here...

There was a time when, love my GT4 as I do, I felt it the inferior sister of the 308 GTB.

But the longer I own it, and the further we get from the 1970's, the more I love it, and the more I feel it can hold its head up high.

The GT4 looks so good in silver, gunmetal, any shade of metallic blue or black.

It looks great in yellow and fine in red.

I look at Hans (and others) exquisite cars and I love the shape. Add to that an unashamedly 1960's feel to the interior and pin sharp handling and its a jewel.

That few recognise it adds to the pleasure.

Believe it or not, but even without the added benefits of better handling and loads more interior room, just for the looks alone I wouldn't swap my GT4 for a GTB. I prefer the GT4, which with its longer wheelbase in my eye is aging better than the GTB with its substantial overhangs.

 

Buy the gas Hans. While the 355 is a beautiful car, with it's power steering and easy clutch, it felt like I was driving a fast Honda....

Yup, still here just don't post much - busy with work, building a new house and lots of fox hunting before the snow. Still own #10704 and #65247 and a bunch of other cars. And, still have the forumula for 106-A-72 somewhere if you need it. PM if you do.
