For all you that have an AR-15 and a 308, any good leads on a silencer or suppressor? Who makes a decent one for the above guns?

I shoot with him and deal with ADCO more often than my wife would like.
    You're welcome.

good to know. The 5.56 silencer looks like one that would fit my Daniel Defense AR-15. I wonder if they make ones for glocks.

They had a gemtech on two hand gun sin their case when I was there yesterday. With that said I think they are big fans of gemtech products.

Damn you people who live in states that allow suppressors... I'm really jealous. Of course I don't know how many rounds most are rated too, none that are decent are cheap, and they're not the easiest item to find (nor can sub-sonic ammo be I imagine), but would be nice to be able to go plinking with one on, and could be easier to teach someone else how to shoot as IME, it's the loud noise that startles a lot of folks.

Seriously I'm not in the know - are silencers legal in KY?

Yes they are legal. But you have to pay a $200 tax for each one you buy.

For an AR, I am currently partial to the SureFire FA556-212. Understand each suppressor design is a compromise between noise suppression, weight, length, quick detach or not, and cost. You need to develop you "mission statement" and work with a good retailer to determine what type, brand and model will best suit your needs. I am NOT saying the FA556-212 is what you will want, but it balanced the variables for MY needs.

I have an older Gemtech M4-96D which is still a very effective suppressor, but a bit on the heavy side by comparison to more modern designs/materials. They have an updated version called the G5 now.

Understand also the technology is pretty mature. All the newer designs are improvements on weight (different materials) and quick detach methods. The actual baffle stacks are pretty old technology, and have not changed much.

Watch out for the really short suppressors, they really are too small to be very effective. Again, working with a retailer, with a nice selection they can demonstrate, is your best bet.
