I tried posting before so if this pops up twice I'm sorry.

Is there not a trunk light switch? There is a place for one in the trunk.

Neither the drawings nor the car actually show one as being there. Just switched through the engine light switch.

Its a bit odd to have to open the engine compartment to turn on the trunk lights.

    Engine light?
    Trunk light?

    My 74 Euro has neither.

It's a sports car for crying out loud! The only thing you ought to be carrying in that trunk is a gallon of oil! ;)

(Clothing will smell terribly after a drive anyway. That's what the rear bench is for - carrying your bags)

Well I thought the lights were for when you need to find tools in the dark and do engine repair on the road side, so I guess that would explain why the engine lid and trunk lid need to be up !

Seriously tho, you don't have lights there?

    + 1 to Hans.

There is (are) no switch(s) nor lights.

However, a flashlight or Halogen light will be ample to complete your quest.

My Euro wiring diagram indicates a switched engine bay light, powered by a yellow (double) wire fused by #14 (8A). No trunk lights however.

Let me clear my throat.. Eerehum..

I'll chalk this up to lack of sleep and blame it on my 7 month old.
I just realized that the light I have been banging my head about are my license plate lights. I've been fixing the wiring in the boot and installing a new power antenna, so I haven't had the trunk lid closed in a few days and never bothered closing it.

So with that if the mods want to erase this thread please do.

    Sorry

Not sure about US cars but my ex GT4 had an engine bay light which was powered off the park lights...not sure if that was originally like that though

My GT4 has a switch at the left rear corner of the engine compartment, and the light is in left front corner of the engine compartment, underneath the edge in the corner, above the left fuel tank. The parking or headlights need to be on to energize the circuit.

Now I'm just curious but do any of your cars have on the frame in the drivers side rear of the trunk have a hole for a switch? Such as the one shown in the picture? I had assumed it was like that from the factory they just never installed it for some reason

What does it say about Ferrari that they thought you were more likely to need a light to see in the engine compartment at night but not in the trunk? That seems kind of pessimistic!
