But citation is at their discretion. Someone has to fill the pension coffers.

$178!! Does anyone know where to get an OEM front license plate holder? I've never even seen one!

So actually I looked around and as you might guess, it was hard to find images of 360s with front plates, especially US-sized ones. The Euro ones aren't too bad, because they fit the space in the front bumper. But the US-sized ones just don't fit the space. I long ago gave up on aesthetics with my DD and put on a front plate because I just didn't want the hassle or expense of frequent fix-it tickets (just leave your car parked for a few seconds near where I work, and you are almost guaranteed to have been ticketed for lack of a front plate - cities are hugely desperate for cash). But I'm not sure I'll come to the same conclusion about the 360. (OK, so the pics below are not of my car, and yes, I'm not even sure the US-sized one is in the right location, and I just realized the "Euro" plate probably isn't Euro, but the concept is the same.)

If you look at page 27 on the above link, it's a $25 fine plus proof of correction. The Op is the same inaccurate info that was circulated last year. I believe different cities may vary?

So, what are the masses of driving enthusiasts doing? Is everyone rushing out to get a front plate installed or are they maintaining status quo?

Check out Birdman's site. He's got info on what appears to be a pretty good quality clamp on plate holder.

I've always thought...if the city were clever they'd come-up with some fancy sticker alternative and, based on it's custom nature, charge a hefty fee to justify and provide it. At least a sticker wouldn't protrude or need to be drilled. There are a lot of darn good adhesives, but lets face it, it just destroys the appearance of the car.

Hmmm...I wonder if the Forum Bully will call his bunkmate Karim and whip him into posting-up another E-tack with yet another IP & s/n change-up. Oh, I so tremble at the thought, lol.

Anyways, the cities want/need money and any ticketable (profitable) offense has it's income potential. I would imagine they also want the cameras at these signal lights to actually capture a plate if it comes down to it. Still comes down to the discretion of the officer and that oftens goes back to what you were doing and your attitude when pulled over. Just another rolling expense.
