Broken iPhone- What do do next?

    I was at the gym yesterday and I was waiting for a phone call so I left my iphone 4 (without a case) on the floor next to the bench I was working at. I rested a 40 pound weight on the bench and it rolled onto the floor and completely destroyed my phone. They couldn't even take out the sim card at At&t. :(

    Here is the dilemma. I have a $200 gift card for Apple however the lady at at&t said it would cost $400 because it would not be counted as an "upgrade". I personally feel like it would be outrageous to pay $400 for an iPhone. I was also considering switching carriers because the service is so horrible with At&t. I was therefore considering buying a blackberry AND switching carriers. I realize both options are pretty costly but I don't want to be stuck with my $30 crappy phone for the next year. What should I do? I could always go to a little shop that sells phones and buy a blackberry and simply put my sim card in it.

    What about switching to Verizon and getting an Iphone 4 through them?


    Either that or hit up Craigslist and find one off of there.

    How did you pay for the iphone originally...

    If it was with an Amex Gold/Plat card or some Visa Gold cards, check with that card. Amex Plat has a full 2 year if it is lost, stolen or damaged and will credit you for it and get a new one. Takes about 5 minutes of time with Amex Platinum.

    No advice on the phone, but gym advice in general.

    Unless you have an absolutely important phone call you're waiting on, leave your phone in the locker. The gym is for working out and far too many times I see people spend half their time on their phones instead of working out.

    I dropped a weight on my mp3 player a few years ago. It sucked, so i understand. Thankfully, I'm not an apple fan so the replacement wasn't nearly as expensive.

    I payed with just a normal Visa card.
    Believe it or not, I was waiting for an important call and I almost ALWAYS leave it in the locker. That was what made me especially upset. I get pissed off when people are on their phones and not working out too haha.

    On a side note, this is the first time I figured out how to quote multiple posts :D
