i love ferrari n lambo but lp560 would be my choice over a 430 now if it was 458 or 560 it would be a 458.
Dustman, the good news is that the Scuderia has been absolutely tanking in the market while the 560 hasn't lost much over where it was a year ago. So at the very least they're about the same money now comparing '09 to '09. Some Scuds may still be a bit more, but it's much closer. There's really no way to decide this besides a test drive. The Scud is much more raw and loud. The 560 more refined, comfortable. They're very close in performance. 560 probably has the edge in a straight line race, Scud probably faster around a tight handling course. I still have the 2009 560 that I bought at launch (traded a 430 in on it). Had it for 2.5 years. Shipped it to Europe and drove it 6000 miles over 3 weeks. It's just a phenomenal car.
Basic gallardo? F430 wins hands down. LP560, sorry, I need to step across to the other side. I agree, Scud versus 560, Scud still wins for me. Hell, I'd even take a CS over a 560.
I drove the Audi R8 V10 Spyder today extensively....what a car. Amazing sounds. Hands down better than a F430 IMO. Have not driven the Scud or LP yet to compare. Cant believe the R8 has a 4yr B-B warranty too. Incredible. Off to find a Scud to drive....anyone in SoCal selling?
Webster, your PM is full I have a few questions about shipping to europe. where did you ship it to and from? how much was each leg? where did you travel while there and did you experience any problems thanks
I am 6'6'', so that rules out lamborghinis for me. Ferrari is much more comfortable inside, lambo is not even close space wise.
I've said oh about 1000 times, if your not going to turn the 560 RWD then 430 all the way. If it were me I'd buy the older Gallardo turn it RWD change the exhaust pull out some of the crap and put a LP560 front bumper on it, oh wait that's what I did, and I like just as much as my 430 (well probably more, since I've had it over two years) and it is just a bit quicker and the traction control no longer works, my kind of car. Hey buy what you like you have to drive it, just keep in mind this is a Ferrari board and many here take the kool aid daily.
I have heard that many times but I never understood why does it make a Lambo better when you change it to RWD. if that was the case then it would come from the factory like that or be an option on both models . The Balboni performed than the AWD
Perhaps you need to drive one that has been changed, then you will understand. You could say why dont Porsche turbos have 75 more hp it is easy to tune the ECU. As far as why not RWD probably because AWD makes not so good drivers better.
To go from an AWD to RWD properly, the LSD and traction control had to be recalibrated. Unless you want to do burn outs and spin outs, I really don't see the point of changing and AWD Gallardo to RWD.
I have been changing AWD cars to RWD for a very long time, and WOULD NEVER own any sports cars with AWD, To each is own, but please unless you have done these type of things, owned them and lived with them, do not say what can and can not be done, because I can tell you with enough time and money (and of course not caring what the car is worth when your done, like in my case) almost anything can be done. I have never used traction control in a sports car in my life and have never done burn outs or spin outs LOL, that is unless I wanted to.
To revive an old thread, which would you prefer as a stablemate to a 599 GTB, F430 Spider or LP560-4 Spyder?
Easy, the one you like best! I drove both (bought neither), greatly preferred the LP-560 in most aspects.....I would think since you already have a Ferrari from the same era, why would you want another one? Honestly, what I would do in your situation? Move the game forward to a 458 vs Huracan battle. Drove a Huracan recently, would never go backwards to a Gallardo now (unless gated LP maybe).
Having owned both, 09 LP560-4 and current 2005 F430, the 430 feels a lot more special to me. IG: @statusone_430 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I own a gated 430 Spider. I feel the 430 has dated very well. It feels raw, somewhat old/classic, feelsome, still fast, very sharp, and you really need to drive it. The LP560 was maybe ahead of its time with 4WD, e gear (think there are a few manuals) and so on, I reviewed one at the time, it is faster and looks cool, but in its lack of rawness and the way it takes care of the driver and has less feedback, feels more in the direction of today's 488/F8/Huracan/McLarens - without the updated nature of those. Your 599 is a very fast, pretty secure car; the 430 will be more of a contrast, edgy. The Lambo will attract more attention than either Ferrari!
