China will become so economically powerfull, nobody will bother about a small rock in the ocean that could be argued belongs to China anyways (it calls itself China).
This story has echose of the "Firefox". Breathless military companies screaming "ZOMG!!! Pinko Commie bastards have managed to produce a Super Jet that can supercruise while hovering, look up shoot down radar, invisible to naked eye, thought controlled missiles!!! We need congress to give us MONEY!!!! Or your kids will be speaking Russian and your wife will be savaged by a bearded Soviet Mongoloid!!!!" This plays on usual American jingoism, xenophobia and ignorance and everybody begins screaming at their Congressman to give some fat cats more money. If there is a "missile gap" it's compeletely in the US favour. More spending then the rest of the world combined... and yet somehow US is going to lose some future war if billions of newly minted US pesos are not spent on useless toys. A stuxnet type virus is more deadly then a 1000 F22s, yet as usual Generals are still fighting old wars. F22 is a cavalry charge in 1914.
