Well, then we have found two points of agreement.

Following your last email there was not only brain lock up but a complete explosion. Why is it that "some" is "never enough"? This is a full out sickness, nothing short of that. That wouldn't be so much a problem if we had a budget that even came within eye shot of the wish list F1 teams have. Sad part is we could utilize what..... 40%..... 50% if we took a double shot of Geritol? Maybe its genetic and we have no control over it. I'm going with that for my latest excuse as I know the boss would never question my Dad. Woman logic 101, took me near 6 decades to learn to use it. Kris also knows there are 6 new component designs being tested on this new mule engine. Genetics and product testing in the same excuse, I'm home free on this one. The next..... that will be tough as she is focused hard on "her" (pass blame when ever possible) new money pit hobby.

Battery charger's are on the car and trailer winch and I should be able to start fabricating wing mounts and hydraulics on Monday evening if the Sprint engine will start one last time to drive it in the shop. Plugzit raised the bar on style points with his Gucci seat covers. I suspect that will be a minimum requirement now and I will have to do the same..... where does it end? A call to Flyboy is now in order to locate some FAA approved fireproof material for those. I am sure that will result in a suggestion of flame retardant treated whale foreskin material or some uber exotic thing like that being used.

Playing catch up with the Plugzit/Vince car running now... this isnt a Happy Position to be in.

Any port in the storm will do when short 2 hands. I have to get rough measurements for the 4130 airfoil tubing lengths as its too blasted expensive to order and ship long lengths these days.

I know what you mean. I've used bungee straps and duct tape before when fitting roll bars.
Way more reliable than some of the 'help' I've had before!!! - "Hey, HEY!!......WTF are you doing? I said hold that LEVEL!!!"

I figured 1.375 major and 1.125 major. The old guy that was stocking all the airfoil tubing down the road passed away and the whole stock got tossed.

Twenty years ago I bought all of the left over stock of the 4130 airfoil tubing that was used to build the Gliders dropped on Normandy and Holland in WWll from a fab shop in Mpls. All I have left is a small amount of wing strut and that is far too large for this.

Out comes the Aircraft Spruce catalog again

Hey. If I can remember the name, there's a drag race chassis supply shop that I think has what you need.

Likely a good bit less expensive than certified aircraft tubing. Really of no consequence in the area it is running but.... style points are needed now that Plugzit and Vince are going apeshlt with pretty

Hey those parts look heavy. We're going CF I think. I've been thinking about making an autoclave out of an old oven and a vacuum cleaner...

The Rockefeller Bro's, what else would you use?! More bigger is more better at my age. That, and I have always wanted to put Air Brakes on a race car.

You silly boys. All "men" need is a little chassis rake a stiffer rear swaybar and some testosterone.

Well boy's , not to be a prick or want to incite anyone to going to any extreme level to be the ultimate track rat , but consider this ...... 24 sq feet of downforce , adjustable , WHILE on track......

For reference I give you this :

    http://www.circletrack.com/ultimateracing/ctrp_0611_supermodified_racing/index.html

I say if done in Carbon Fiber , you shall be given 2 laps in the pit lane before starting allowed!!

PS , I would be an excellent technical enforcer !!!

Perhaps ........ IF youdrop that silly fuel injection stuff for crude & rude!!! I vote for a pair of Holley 4 holer's !!! And if that dosen't work , a finely engineered boat anchor from a ZO6 'vette , may be of great assistance!! Your mileage may vary.

Damn Mike, your making my eyes bleed with that talk!

Man has evolved and 4 holers were something dug by hand with a shovel and presented a unique social gathering opportunity... been there with that shovel and really respect indoor plumbing after the Northern Minnesota winter experience's that followed. Evolution and indoor plumbing, try it, you will enjoy the whole new thinking process.

Around 100 years old now, Chevrolet finally decided to evolve and follow Ferrari's idea with "Ground Breaking" overhead cam, aluminum block technology and gave they us the Vega.... There is a reason that Detroit is not in F1 racing... These folks turn both Left AND right, slow down for corners and try to make the back end stick, not slide. And this thing about mounting wings on sideways.... I dont even know where to go with that. I only went around a race track in circles for a few years before figuring out the steering wheel worked in both directions. I did that in an aluminum block Buick Wildcat Special which led to my mother wishing on me 4 sons and a 100 ft driveway in a nice neighborhood when I grew up. We just have to get you out of this John Deere, pistons the size of coffee cans thinking!

That said, I am now starting to think a Continental O-470 (and wings run upside down) is a pretty good thing at a 2800 RPM redline. Mom warned me about hanging out with some people, "You'll just get sucked in", she used to say. She never told me the same would hold true for an entire lifetime!

You missed "Air Brakes". The sway bars are already the size of my thigh. The question arises if one wing will be enough.

Hey Dave, lookie what I have mounted!!!
Dug through all my bellhousings and found one that with a little modifying, bolted right up to the back of the block. Working on the front mounts now, then the coupler. Won't be long now!

I think I see a snokle in the making..... I really do appriciate these big lumps. My CanAm car is a BBC with Hilborn/Lucas injection. I was "pockets dry" when the last Renolds block was located and had to pass on it. If I could get that lump to shed about 80#'s off the rear tires... I might be able to turn the fool thing. No need what so ever for corner scales with that car, it wouldnt make a bit of difference.

I am working on the harness right alongside building the 550 injection harnesses. We are going to have to beat up some shipping companies as the coffin coming your way.... those folks are out of their minds! Either that or move yer backside back to the mountains....

    Looking good... keep going.
