I promised to write a positive review for Prospeed Prestige if I liked their high performance catalytic converters and I do!

Here's the story... I went to smog my newly purchased 1998 355 Spider here in California where I live and it failed because the previous owner didn't tell me the Cats were failing. Typically the previous owner would be 100% responsible for getting the car smogged but I purchased it out of state so it was my responsibility. After discovering that OEM Cats would be $8500, I started to research aftermarket Cats and came across PROSPEED PRESTIGE. I spoke with Brain (the owner) and he was extremely friendly and very easy to deal with. He told me that he personally hand builds every set of Cats he sells. He said he previously made (8) sets for other 355's and they all past smog with his Cats. He guaranteed me that if the pair he made for me didn't pass, he'd replace them for FREE. I ordered the Cats and they were ready in less than a week. After I had my Ferrari mechanic install them, I put over 100 miles on the car to break them in and then I went for my smog. I don't know if that was necessary, but figured it couldn't hurt. THE CAR PASSED with no issues. The best part is price. Brian only charged me $1500. A far cry from $8500 and the car runs and sounds fantastic. I've since put almost a 1000 miles on my car and it still sounds fantastic and runs very strong.

I highly recommend PROSPEED PRESTIGE Catalytic Converters if your Cats are failing. Brian also makes Cats for other model Ferrari's.

    The web site is WWW.PROSPEEDPRESTIGE.COM

Thanks Brian, you really saved me a ton of money and make a great product.

Kova, not a good first post for you. I predict that the Mods will be deleting [edit: weighing in on] this soon. I've actually talked to Brian before about the HFCs he sells too, and I agree he is a nice guy. But there's a protocol for these things and I believe it starts with him becoming a sponsor.

It's OK for a user to post a consumer review. However, a first time poster doing so can expect some scrutiny about being a shill.

Thanks for the clarification Yin, and thanks to our paying sponsors and HFC suppliers at Hyperflow and Fabspeed for supporting the forums.

Why were the cats so impressive? Because they passed a smog test and only cost $1500? I'd expect any brand new cat to pass a smog test, but the cost is a function of the quality. Any comments or pics of the construction/quality?

Yes I'm new to the forum but these responses are harsh and immature. I had no idea there would be so much hostility on here. How sad. Whether Brian is a sponsor or not shouldn't be the point of focus. The point is that Brian makes a great product THAT WORKS and he does it for a fraction of the OEM price. However, I've been around long enough to know there are people out there who will be negative no matter what. They don't care about good or bad, they just want to see the world burn to the ground because it entertains them.

For those of you who appreciate this post, you're most welcome. For those of you who choose to be negative because you have nothing better to do, I pity you.

I'm going outside now to enjoy this beautiful thing we call life and drive one of the greatest sports cars ever made. I suggest the "haters" turn off their computers and do the same. Life's to short to spend it spewing mindless hate onto a computer screen.

    Peace.

Understand that you are not subscribed and the nature of your very first post is to help somebody sell something. I have been on Fchat for about two years and there is very valuable information being shared here between owners. It is difficult to take your post seriously because you have not even said so much as hello. It would of been best to subscribe, fill out your profile, show us some pics of your beautiful F-car, and tell us a little about yourself. Your post would of been received with appreciation, and not scepticism. For all we know, you are the same guy who is selling the cats? Get it?

So my friendly suggestion is to start over, and do things the right way. This forum will be a place you will want to visit everyday. The information you will gather here is priceless :)

Notice the catalyst are not approved for sale in California indicating they have not been certified. I look forward to hearing how they hold up after 5k miles.

Or there's Nouvolari who's also a sponsor here and are $200 less last I saw...

Seriously for a first post to be a total prop for a new potential vendor to the 355 market...well not the first time we've seen that.

I'm brand new to this forum and am hoping this is not typical. The responses to Kova are ridiculous. The guy posted a review for cats which is exactly what I logged on to read. I can't possibly know if his review, or anyone else's, is shilling for the company or genuine. Regardless reviews and recommendations are why I registered for this forum so I'm happy Kova and others post them

Coincidentally I met with 2 Ferrari mechanics in the Newport, CA area just 2 days ago. Both initially recommended Hyper-flo cats but also said Prospeed are just as good and about $400 cheaper. They acknowledged they are not legal in CA but said they've never heard of anyone having a problem passing smog and wouldn't worry about it.

I've never met Brian or spoken with anybody at his company. I also don't know which cats I'm going to buy. All I know is I heard very good things about both Prospeed and Hyper-flo and I'm glad to read Kova's post. For those who ripped into him, going through life doubting the integrity of people you've never met is pretty ****ty.

Yes, quite interesting that "Kova" never made another post after his review of the cats, yet claimed to have a 355. No pics of his car in his profile, no pics of his car in the original posting.

Mkantor, before you decide to throw stones around here, I would recommend that you post pictures of your car and have at least one Subcribed member vouch for you. A review from a real car owner is always welcome here. A review from a phony user with no proof of actually owning the vehicle in discussion is just SPAM.

I've been on this Forum since 2008, others have been on much longer. Car owners who create a profile just to post a product review, then disappear into oblivion, are never actually "owners."

For the life of me I don't know how this thread still exist but since it is here I am going to give my imput.

I bought my Fabspeed headers and cats shortly after buying my 355. Four years later, the headers still look great with the ceramic coating and no heat shields. The cats are functioning perfectly and I have put just over 4K miles since they were installed. No heat related issues to the alternator or the engine mounts. I could not be happier and hey guess what Fabspeed is legal. I would be glad to post picks for anyone who would like to see cats and headers after a few thousand miles and know they are making a good decision.
