Anyone know the difference between the two packages? Looking at the following car:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-SCAGLIETTI-612-ONLY-2-400MILES-F1-GTS-PACK-DAYTONA-/350429248369?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item519735fb71

I'm guessing the only difference between the packages is that the GTS has a sport exhaust, but not the same double walled Tubi as in the HGTS & HGTC packages.

Sounds like the car has some delayed maintenance, so I'm not sure about it. I'm thinking about my looking at the OTOs if anyone knows of any good deals out there.

Asking price of the car is $155k, but after talking to the dealer there appears to be quite a bit of room to negotiate. The fingerprints can barely be seen under close inspection, but I'm not really sure what to think of it. Maybe it is a red flag. Prior owner claims it was a factory flaw.

Looked at your 612 also and thought the price expectations might be a little high. Also, red is not one of my top couple choices, though it is a beautiful car. Since your car has a GTS package, any insights into exactly what it included?

Macadoo- The main difference between the HGTS and HGTC packages was the latter had CCM brakes. The sports exhaust system is not a Tubi. If you look closely, the tailpipes are completely different from a Tubi. Those double wall tailpipes were introduced on the 575M HGTC.

Here are the main components of each package.

HGTS Package includes: Sports Exhaust, Modular Wheel Rims 19″ with Sport Tires, Colored Brake Calipers, Specific Suspension Control ECU, Revised F1 Gearbox Software with Shorter Gear Shift times.

HGTC Package includes: Carbon-Ceramic Brake Discs, CCM System Mono-block Brake Calipers, Sports Exhaust, Ball-polished Modular Wheel Rims 19″ with Sport Tires, Colored Brake Calipers, Specific Suspension Control ECU and Revised F1 Gearbox Software with Shorter Gear Shift times.

Thanks Terry. I've looked at some pictures of HGTS and HGTC cars, but this car and the car posted up by Cheeky Monkey simply show GTS (~$12,000 option). I'm guessing it includes everything in the HGTS package except the exhaust.

No, it includes the exhaust. If you look closely, you can see the double walled exhaust pipe. This is what they look like close up. The photo is of my 575M, but the 612 tailpipes are identical and were even used on the 599 HGTE, except with some black paint.

Guess I need to save a photo of the tailpipes on the 612 HGTx, too. The bottom photo is the 599 HGTE tailpipes.

Hard to see unless the camera is fairly close to the tailpipes.

I thought the HGTx package always had the chromed mesh screens next to exhaust on the 612, which neither of the cars posted on eBay in the above listings appear to have. Also, I called the dealer of the first listing and he said the exhaust is not double walled, so unless he doesn't know what he is looking at or the previous owner swapped them out, something else is going on. The window sticker is shown on the listing and clearly shows the GTS option. The dealer also said the mesh screens are black or nearly so.

Interesting. One of our FChatters had a 2006 HGTS package that came with the exhaust, but he ended up swapping his black screens for the chrome screens. He also put 599 monolithics on it. Hopefully one of the owners did not swap the exhaust for a Tubi, because the Sports Exhaust is much more desirable. That is how I picked up my Superamerica HGTC exhaust.

$12,000 is too expensive for wheels, two ECUs, and painted calipers. The chrome/SS screens were introduced on the OTO for MY08.

Look similar to mine, with GTS pack. I always thought the GTS meant different exhaust system and maybe a few other extras/features. My sticker says GTS Package $12,788.00. It also says next to that, 19" rims.
BTW after taking that pic, seems like I now have a job to do... clean those tail pipes!
Finally, IMHO I wouldn't spend the extra on an OTO ('08 and above). To most, it still looks like the same Ferrari and your average Joe sure isn't going to know any different. It's not worth the extra $. Anyway, you can't miss what you haven't had.

Thanks for the photo. I tend to agree with you on the OTO except it did introduce a new engine (F133H, not sure what changed yet from the original F133F), new transaxle based on the 599 case, Superfast F1, and the 599 dual plate clutch, which is apparently very tough. Plus standard CCMs. A lot of difference in price between a 2005/6 and a 2008 OTO.

Thanks guys. I just emailed the dealer a pic of the "propeller" tips vs standard to get a confirmation. My guess is that the dealer didn't know what he is talking about.

If your main criteria is how it looks to others, I wouldn't get a 612 in the first place!

A Mondial is a 2+2, and easily identified by the general public as a Ferrari. In fact, I got way more attention in my old Mondial than I have ever received in the 612.

You will certainly tell the difference driving it-- the transmission alone makes a huge difference in the driving experience in the OTO.

So the dealer confirmed that the car has the same exhaust setup as Cheeky Monkey's. I put an offer into the dealer (off eBay at $140.5k), but I think he has higher expectations. The car needs a major service which looks like around $6k. Other than that I think the car is clean.

Any estimates on what this car is worth? Good deal or bad deal at say $145k? Anyone out there with a similar black 612 they would like to sell me?

It is almost a new car at 2400 or so miles. $140K is about half original sticker. If you really like it, go for it. Just be advised the 2+2s tend to depreciate rapidly, but if you are planning on keeping it and driving it, no big deal. Eventually the only thing I would do is put 599 monolithics on it and it will look just like a new one.

One photo of a black 612 with 612 monolithics and another of Doug's Grigio Ingrid 06 612 with 599 monolithics (11" rear vs 10") and the SS screens added.

Seems like a buy for $145K. I have word from a few that have now placed eyes on the new 612. The comments was that it is a total departure and the current 612's will more than likely hold values based on this.

2005/2006 612 have a top dollar value of $125-135K in my researched and experienced opinion. Any seller who is holding out for more is making a mistake. Regardless of what the new 612 will look like, one thing is painfully clear; 612s will continue to drop quickly. The OTOs will fair better. If you have aggressively advertised a car for 60 days, then the buyer is there, assuming you're realistic.

I think I agree with you Jerry. I stopped at $141k and will try to deal on a highly optioned sliverstone 07 HGTC instead. Even more depreciation ahead, but oh well. The perfect car for me is a black or silverstone with tan 06 HGTC with a reasonable seller. Just not sure it exists.

I also agree with you on the OTOs. Again, any 08 OTO owners out there that want to sell (though I'm probably too cheap to make it work)?

Thanks. Here's my 612 and the two that will sit in the back seats. The kids were out saying goodbye to the GT-R. Changing the wheels to a set of challenge that are currently being resprayed in silverstone. Need some tint still also. Loving the car.

Mac- Very pretty car and it will look even better with the monolithics. Those brakes were expensive (~$15K), so you got a good deal. They really fill out the wheels and yellow calipers are my favorite.

I just bought an 07 HGTC. One big difference between an 06 and an 07 is that the 07 can have Bose, door speakers etc. I went for a Rosso Corsa/Beige heavily optioned car (Bose, Daytonas, full carbon, front and rear sensors, shields, etc) and am absolutely happy with it. Also need the back seats for precious cargo. I don't care about the depreciation. I am already super happy to buy a great and useful car at half of its' original price. I will keep the split rims - I like them better than the 599 one piece which to me look very 2004 CS
