I gave myself some rest on that frustrating Promocom kit and it was time for something different. This is my first 1:43 build...I build almost all scales but I forgot 1:43  I saw some some WIP about Tameo kits and I wanted to try this detailed gems. This is the WTC series the most detailed one. Here you see all the photo etch parts.

After all the 1:8 stuff I must get used to this size  Here is the engine next to a 0.8 mm drill.

This kit does not contain wiring or cables but I want to detail these too. So I have to drill 12 0.2 mm holes for the spark plugs

The brake discs consist of 3 separate parts

    Gearbox (5 by 5 mm)

For an easy build-up of the engine I soldered a stand.

The biggest job was making the trumpets with the mesh. The mesh is not included so I bought it separately.
It was a brain crusher how to make these 1mm mesh spheres but this is my solution

folding the mesh around the pin head makes a sphere

    this is the result

Here you can see the trumpets on the engine

I made some pictures with better exposure conditions

Engine is ready now and the next stop is the chassis

The monocoque is the result of folding PE and soldering with this (blurry) result

Funny if you think of it but about 25 years ago scale 1/43 was very popular and 1/18
was virtually unknown but for a few manufacturers like Burago.
I also used to build a lot of 1/43 kits by AMR, Record,MRF and Bosica. I bought a lot of these at the huge fairs in Driebergen (later in Houten).
Still sory that I sold the lot.
I will follow your project with great interst.
    Happy building!!

    Thanks guys!

"Still sory that I sold the lot."

I would be sorry too considering the prices you have to pay nowadays for Bosica and AMR :-(

But a lesson learned: DON'T SELL YOUR STUFF! :)

I hope this project is finished by now! There must have been a serious hold-up if it is still incomplete.
