Yes, Mike, it is one of the absolute best looking cars from that period, no doubt, IMO. I agree, the the light blue colour suits the design really well. I will keep you posted on the progress of finding a Mangusta.... Thanks Jorgen
I thought you guys might enjoy this car that I detailed. It is the Mangusta Spyder that won at Pebble Beach (many moons ago) Image Unavailable, Please Login
This Mangusta resto project was recently sold in Germany. It has been stored for more than 20 years. Image Unavailable, Please Login
shame, and I am sure many are aware, but Mangusta International's cool little website is down since Jan. 12 anyone a 'puter expert can help those folks out? http://www.mangustainternational.com/home.php
Found some old pictures of Mangusta racecars. I have seen the IMSA car before. I think it ran in 1973 and 1974. The European car I have not seen in color before(kind of ugly colors). Here is a link to the automotive blog I found the photos at: http://www.automobiliac.com/ Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2011-Chicago March 19th 2011 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The white car on the right is 8MA1294 - Freddy Moss's old racer. It has now been restored above and beyond. Here is pic of the exterior ( for interior pic see post 348) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am not an expert at all, I thought Dana was the expert. I hope he gets someone to help him, because all of the pics are on his server, just not linked and titled anymore. I don't want anyone to make it worse not knowing what they are doing. Does anyone know him well enough to offer help? I have contacted him several times, both offering and soliciting advice, but I don't think I have gotten an answer. His website has served many of us very well during tough times.
Il keep my fingers crossed that they will be successful with the reconstruction of the website, it is a great resource. Here is a picture of a Mangusta from Spa, anyone having more details? Image Unavailable, Please Login
8MA1052 Prepared for historic competition and seen at the 2009 Barcelona Classic Endurance Racing event driven by Heiko Ostmann who came 1st in Gr.3.
For more pictures of this Mangusta, search for "2010 Le Mans Series support races at Silverstone" I like the Hella mirrors, which have been moved from the fenders to the side windows, and those look like 4x108 Jongbloed wheels if you ask me. I notice it is a 4 headlight car with two headlights stuck in there, and it is labeled as a 1967. I don't know the serial number.
quick question....never really checked or know this, but is the 4x108 bolt pattern on those wheels the same as 'stock'? 4 x 108? thanks makes more sense this way....is the bolt pattern on a stock Mangusta 4 x 108?
Nice color.... If you know of a Mangusta for sale, please let me know. I am looking for a car with some work, but not a basket case. PM or email: [email protected] Image Unavailable, Please Login
I notice you used the plural version "bonnets", so you must have several sets? Are these originals or fiberglass copies?
The green Goose (8MA1216) is a true find. JonathanR found an original owner car in Italy, flew out to see it with JohnnyW, then drove it back to the UK.Super clean nice original car and unique colour.
Yes, #1216 is a great looking Mangusta. Here is a picture of a car with modern wheels.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is the 'FOX' Mangusta it was restored by PI and won Las Vegas concours in 2002. It has approximately 500 HP. It has quite a few structural components to strengthen the car including a sub-frame under the passenger compartment. The current owner is refreshing the car.
Do you know or correspond with him Denis? If you do, do you reckon he might share some of the detail of his unique 'goose' with 'story' and photos? Sure would love to see what was done, and get a 'feel' from him how it differs from 'stock' when in motion! might be an especially good time, if it is gettin' "refreshed"
He's been on the shy side. he is the guy who was selling the wheel centers. Dave Adler might remember what he and his crew did, drop him a line. D Image Unavailable, Please Login
You all have better Mangusta pictures than I do. I love it. http://***********************/2011/01/de-tomaso-mangusta.html
