    hey yall,

second time that this has happened since I picked up my 99 360 back last summer.

I was driving normally, hit 3rd gear, won't go past 3rd
come to a stop, it pops into neutral and won't go back into 1st

pull fuse out, 30A fuse blown

I put in a 50A to see if that helps, but what's next?

is the relay or F1 pump on it's way out?

Do not put in a 50 amp fuse as that may cause your F1 pump to burn out or could even start a fire. What you need to replace is the F1 relay, which is a known failure part on early F1 cars. Here is the part you need. Do a search on F1 relay and read all the threads on the subject. Ferrari solved the problem in later cars by using a 50 amp relay, not a 50 amp fuse.

I agree with Taz. Don't just change the fuse or install a more powerful 50A fuse. You will end up stranded on a highway with a burnt F1 pump electric motor and, as a worst case scenario, a fire in your engine bay.

This is a sure sign of a failing F1 pump electric motor. Relay failure is secondary to electric motor failure.

Here is my previous thread describing the reasons for the F1 pump electric motor failure:

You should replace both, the F1 pump and relay as well. Alternatively, you should replace electric motor on the F1 pump, which is the most cost-effective measure (+ get a new relay).

There is a new F1 pump and relay listed in FerrariAds section:

To lower the temperature of the F1 pump electric motor, you need to install this radiator kit:

+1 sounds like your F1 pump is heading south. These guys know what they're talking about....I replaced my pump myself with the help of Juri and the others here.

For those of you who do not know, Juri also has a beefed up F1 pump with a larger motor for less than the OEM pump.
