    I just got back from Cairo last night. It was really a mess, and anyone that thinks there's no danger there is wrong. I love the place and the people, but was never so happy leaving a country as when my flight took off (about 30 hours after arriving at the airport and after several cancellations).

    glad to report that until now tarek and i are safe.
    it is a degrace what is happening here considering that all the violence is orchestrated by the state.

    hopefully this is over soon and we can go about our daily lives.

    just spoke to tarek yesterday. he and is family are safe and in no imminent danger.
