Hi All - I have a buddy looking at a beautiful 456 "Schumacher Edition" - Can anyone shed light on build numbers for this? Many thanks!
Greetings Shorn There was(is ?) a site whose address was the www.the456.com. They had an excellent description of 456's and a SN list. They have listed two, and only two were made, 'Schumacher Editions' #132383 and #132385 - both LHD and both in 'Very dark Grey/grey', two tone paint with 'grey' leather stitched in Bordeaux. A signature plaque, red calipers the last two 456s for the USA. This is according to that website in Feb 2008, I can no longer access it (Gone ???) Philip C
The numbers are more than 2 as I have seen 2 in Australia in right hand drive. My understanding is that there were only cosmetic changes ie 2 tone paint ,grey wheels etc nothing by way of performance enhancements that I know of.
Yes, definitely more than two were made. In Europe they were called "Bicolore Scaglietti". My best estimate would be 15-20 cars built. I have never seen an official number though. Ciao, Lars T.
More than two for sure. I think there may have been an interior detail, something small (stitching?)probably, then perhaps a remap of ECU or something similarly easy to do.
Stan- Engine was box stock with no ECU mods. Fitted to 6 speed cars, but the paint is listed as an option, so not 100% sure it could not have been fitted to an M GTA. Included a gray grille, exterior paint, gray wheels, optional Sat-Nav. Here it is again. Sorry, I didn't mean to repost and was surprised to see it. I remembered that there was a possible interior difference. That must have been the sat nav. The performance was conjecture on my part. I thought they might have done something easy considering the name. Thanks. For the info.
Lars is right, 15-20 cars were made. This one is fitted with 18" wheels from 550 Maranello. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks everyone - What I am really looking for is some sort of registry or other trustworthy source to specifically tell me the number of Schumacher Editions made - specifically LHD 6-Speeds. I found one registry site but it was specific to UK/RHD cars. Nothing in Wikpedia and the Ferrari home site just describes the car in generaly - nothing about build numbers or special editions. Any help is appreciated - Cheers and thanks!

The pictures are for sure not taken in Belgium, i don't know this type of traffic lights (that can be seen in one of the pictures) So a possible scam Phone number is French, so maybe the photos where taken in France.
Hello, Do you really think it will be worth more than other 456m in the future? I mean way more? Best.
Over the years, the CONCEPT of the "Schumacher Edition" has grown on me. However, after considering one of the few to make it to "public market," I decided to put the money into a 2002 575M. I am not that taken with the distinctive "Schumacher" appearance, and there are no performance upgrades. My lifestyle would be hard on the "light colored" interior. Had it been available with a 550 engine, I might have tumbled for one. The 575 has proved to be a good investment and good performer on the road. While the "Schumacher" may eventually grow more valuable, maintenance is costly and VERY time consuming. I think that the cost of keeping a "Schumacher" on the road would eventually "neutralize" any increase in re-sale value. HOWEVER, it IS a 6-speed, V-12 front-motor Ferrari..............
