I wish more tests and write ups were available like this...I think most oil is purely based on marketing gimmicks.

That test is five years old, has been posted here numerous times, and was thoroughly discredited by the testers themselves in later issues after they took serious heat for how unrepresentative the test was compared to the conditions oil actually sees.

do you happen to have any information showing that? I do not know a ferrari but I have always, and have only used castrol gtx in my cars.

Dave- Do a search in Tech Q&A. I think that is where the info was. Any good synthetic oil of the correct viscosity rating will work fine. The only trouble with the Shell Ultra Helix and Quaker State Q equivalent is they tend to foam more than most other similar oils. They still work fine.

Castrol GTX is not a synthetic oil, but will work fine if changed regularly. Their synthetic is Syntec. Both made by BP.
