NICE! I think 360 wheels rock on these cars (I know some of you don't so please don't slam me on that). I actually don't like the 360 wheels on a 360, I think they look much better on these cars.

Snow here too, fired it up just to hear it run this afternoon - maybe the weather will break soon!

Well hello my 348 friends, and long time NO HEAR FROM!

Allow me to address some odds and ins on the LeMans Grill, as some of you might not have been in "Ferraridom" when me and my dad designed the Grill:

    1) The Grill isn't meant to "imitate" a 355 by any stretch. But the fact is, all Ferraris except for certain years of the TR and the 348 have round taillights.

So the goal was to give owners that weren't absolute purists an alternative that would give the 348 rear a Ferrari look, rather than the old 300ZX look. Not sure who copied who with the 300Z/348, but the rear taillight treatment was quite similar in appearance no matter.

So the goal was "Let's make this thing look like a Ferrari." Whether we succeeded is really in the eye of the beholder.

    2) The lights are not meant to point straight up. Daniel, Steve could be correct, in that you installed one of the first of these (if not THE first), so there could be a bit more hand-fitting/modifying necessary than the later ones. To tell you the truth, it's been such a while ago I don't recall whether we modified the "eyes" of the Grill any.

The lights should be ALMOST parallel to the ground. That is, the BACK of the taillight should be ALMOST (but not quite) a 45 degree angle. Someone else with the black 348 (Dave?) on this thread has the angle PERFECT, and IN AGREEMENT with the rear lines of the car.

    3) I don't produce these in any quantity any more, as there isn't much margin in them and it seemed ridiculous to keep $10K of these stacked to my garage ceiling all the time. If I do a run of 3 I can get them done at a decent amount.

THAT SAID, I put one on eBay thinking it was a "buy it now" price and I'll be darned if it turned out to be an actual auction and some lucky dog WON the thing for under $500! OUCH THAT HURT! :)

So now I'm down to just one grill, as xtcgt bought the first one, this second one went for under $500 (maybe he'll be a deadbeat bidder!! :) ).

That will probably be it until summer.

    4) Steve makes harnesses and very good ones at that. Not sure what Steve charges for this, but you guys that need a harness just need to PM Steve. It's not that hard to do the wiring, although I'll never forget the late-night conversations me and Daniel had while we were trying to sort his! Daniel I still feel awful about that.

Hope all is well with you guys and you are having a blessed year. email me any time.

    See you down the road!

It gives the 348 a better look in my opinion, as some have done with the Testarossa to give it the 512M rear look.

Round tail lights on modern cars give an updated appearance......and have more of a Ferrari persona.

I agree. Something about the strakes, I think, makes the 360 wheel a nice fit for the 348.

Hmmm... I have a bit of a temp wiring setup right now between the old harness going back to the rest of the electrical system, and the 4 new 355 lights. Which Steve is this that you speak of? I've got some good print outs of Daniel's wiring job that was posted here a while back, and I've been planning on doing something similar, but just haven't taken the time yet, so I would definitely be interested in anything that would make this easier.

As for the light angle... I think I got mine pretty darn close to the intended angle, but I did some minor cutting to make it work to my liking. I love the result though. I've got some photos around here somewhere...

That would be me. Its really not cheap to make those harnesses one set at a time.

One guy emailed me asking about having one made, I explained the situation and cost, and didn't even get the courtesy of a response. This was my response to him...

Bottom line, in order to make these harnesses cheap enough (about $100 each), at least 5 people would have to do a "group buy" so to speak.

lights wired! ferrari is really piss poor in it manufacturing process....running lights wouldn't work as their stamping process cut the metal strip on "both lights" for the inside lamps.

Thanks Dan "Ricambi" for supplying the wiring harness.....lazy but direct fit. thanks also for the attached instructions but my lights were different. lol. how is husker going to get any positive results with so many wiring differnces between models.

Wiring of the lights is pretty straight forward, just fiigue out what the pins do and go from there. I watched some 355s on youtube and figued out parking , running, brake, blinker, reverse etc.

basically is if you have a test light you can figure it out.....

In regards to appearance, my lights definately do not point up. I wish there was a little more thread on the studs...but i got about a 15 to 20 degree angle. looks great though

Because the inner and outer lights operate differently, those traces are cut intentionally, not a mistake or manufacturing error. There is only 3 connections to each light, the connection at the cut trace, doesn't have a connection to the harness.
You will also notice that the outer bulb holder has no connection for the center bulb position.

Outer: Running lights & turn signal
Inner: brake lights & reverse light

Following this diagram may help you, all 348's ARE wired the same!

Guys, I got an order to make a harness for someone today, so i'll be ordering the materials today. So, if anyone else wants me to make them a harness, send me a PM by 1:00pm TODAY (Friday 2/4/11) or forever hold your peace.

If someone else orders one, I can do them for $115, and i'll send the other guy a $10 refund, he paid $125.

Sorry for the short notice, but I was caught by surprise when he suddenly placed the order without notice.

maybe i'm wrong... but the outer light has three pins and the inner light has 4.

this is how i wired mine

    outer---parking brake

Inner --- reverse, blinker, running (my running lights wouldn't work)

parking light comes on when you turn on your running lights.

Yes, the inner has 4 PINS, but one pin leads to the cut trace, and therefore serves no function.

You can wire them the way you did, but Ferrari wired them to function as I described in my previous post.

I wired mine in a totally unique way... all 4 of my lights function as parking AND brake lights, the centers of my inners are reverse lights, and the centers of my outers are the turn signals.

In order to do this, I had to get 4 inner bulb holders and re-connect the cut traces... so all 4 of my lights have 4 wires.

thats a pretty cool way of wiring it. Btw, what color black are your rims? i am painting my 512tr rims black (mounted on the 348) and can't decide what color black to do it, gloss, matte, flat????

Along with my flashing 3rd brake light, even in direct sunlight, you can see that i'm applying the brakes from 500Ft away! lol
My wheels are gloss black 19's, they came that way. I like them just fine, but given the choice, I would have went with matte black.
My ultimate goal is to get a set of 18" 360 modulars and have the center spoke piece painted matte black.... and MAYBE have the outer rim piece painted Rosso. My personal definition of matte, is flat.

i personally recommend Ricambi America. Not sure what their web address is but a Google search should find it no problem.
