    I just want to keep you guys posted. I was recently informed that an individual was using my exact photos with my company name!!!! to try and list a Ferrari Challenge I recently had listed for sale and sold.........

    No response to Phone or Emails yet from this Perp.

    Whats the deal with these types of sites. He is taking my work and using it to perhaps get a profit.... With no permission.

    Thoughts on how to handle this please. and Is this even illegal??

    Is he selling the same car again?

    If so he's just taking the easy road by using your photos. You could demand that he "cease and desist" but since you sold the car you don't seem to have any monetary damages from his unauthorized use. Probably the most you could expect would be to force him to take his own photos.

    If he doesn't have the car at all and is representing a phantom, then he's doing a "bait & switch" with your work and maybe is doing something illegal.

    The car was sold to a member here an I know for a fact its not for sale at the moment. He is trying to sell a car that is not for sale. I am going to ask him to take down the pictures and stop the shenanigans.

    Just called and he will not take down the Ad. He is specifically telling me that he has it listed for sale................ I told him that it is sold.......Still insists that it is for sale.

    Yes He is using my photos with my logos.

    The car is not even that color anymore.

    I don't see any logos on the pictures. Mark Starr and Hunting Ridge Motors was a well-known and reputable dealer in NY. He went out of business back in 08 I think. This sort of looks like his old site. Maybe somebody is spoofing him? Maybe he is selling the car?

    It says Bullet Motorsports in all the pictures. I just sold that car and I know the new owner does not have it for sale. the new owner is a member here.

    Its def a spoof.

    The person that answered was verrrry rude when I asked him to remove the vehicle. so I sent him a nice email. with a cease and desist!

    I figured that me telling him I sold it would be good enough, and that he was using my web photos would be icing on the cake. I sent him an email this afternoon I'm going to give him 24 hours. No need to rush a sticky situation.

    Seems that if anyone can reach out to Mr. Starr, they should have him get involved as well, since his good name is getting dragged into this. (Although has anyone thought he has brought the dealership back?)

    In any case, it seems as if the Bulletproof and Hunting Ridge names are being used without permission. Since that's clearly illegal, I think this evidence could be presented to the web hosting service and there's a good chance they will help.

    thank you guys, I will inform them if it is not taken down within the 24 hours. I just don't want anybody to get shammed into putting a deposit on a car this guy clearly does not have.

    Just to be clear on this... This is the same guy. He's even using the same phone number he has for years.

    Further that domain has been registered to him since 1998 and shows no drops. (in other words, he's owned it the whole time)

    I know he used to have a good reputation especially in the Lotus community... now I wonder.

    *If* we determine that he is running a scam, it's pretty easy to get a top ranking on google for his name and/or his company name to warn others.

    We (with Rob's permission I guess) make a post detailing what we learn and a few guys drop links on it from their own sites. It will rank #1 in days probably.

    Of course, that's after we determine what is going on. *If* he is trying scam people selling Ferrari's he does not own, I have no qualms making sure anyone who googles him knows.

    Right now I sorta assume there is more to the story or something we don't know... but who knows, he may be a criminal.

    I am waiting on the response from the original seller to justify what he(the fake seller) told me on the phone. He states he has permission........ but I do not believe this is the case since it was brought to my attention from a private source close to the original seller.

    Im going to call him(the fake seller) in them morning I will keep you guys posted. As I said before I do not want anyone to get scammed, so lets see what happens tomorrow. We cant hang him yet. :)

    Just talked to The previous owner and he(the fake seller) does not have permission to list the cars. The original owners lawyer will be contacting him if he does not budge, we will do the Google thing tonight if necessary :)

    Someone posted on another board that some guy named Scott Lyman was running the "dealership." Why does that name ring a bell?
