I read that Belfort cut 30 pounds for this fight. It will be interesting to see if it affects him.

That was wrong for Anderson to do that to Vitor at the weigh-ins. He's the champ. All the fans boo'ed him. They use to be training partners and i heard Vitor use to get the best of A. Silva. but that was 6-8 years ago. Now, it's a different story. I'm SO EXCITED. I haven't been this excited for a UFC since.......... Hmmmmmm????? The last one. Just kidding, probably UFC 100.

Ok i'm back to liking him!!! What a kick! But over all, the card wasn't that exciting. I had a friend come over to watch, I couldn't stop bragging how exciting this card is gonna be. I could tell he was pretty bored. He thought there were gonna be human cock fights i guess. (That didn't come out too good huh, human cock fight DON'T PICTURE IT!!!!!)

Yeah, even though there was a fair amount of action, it did seem to go pretty slowly.
I thought the Griffen v. Franklin fight would be more of a war...

So since Rashad is injured, they announced that Jones will be fighting Shogun for the belt. And get this - the odds-makers are favoring Jones!

Jones is a good fighter, but to already pick him as a winner over Shogun, the Champ, is a little ridiculous. Personally, I hope Shogun kicks his ass and brings Jones back down to earth. I am sensing Jones is becoming a little full of himself.

I'd like to see Jones fight Anderson Silva at 205lbs. Now that would be an interesting fight.

I was impressed with Cerrone, that was a good fight. Also liked the Torres fight, even though his reach gives him such a huge advantage over pretty much everyone else in his division.

I was happy to see Forrest return with a victory. I don't think he'll ever hold the belt again, but it would be nice to see him float around in the top 7.

Can someone please tell me how both Belfort and Forrest earned $275k each, where Anderson SIlva only earned $200k?!?!?

I was wondering about that too. Seems often that the challengers get more. Tooney got like tripple what Couture got. And why didn't Silva get a Win Bonus????

Probably it wasn't in Silva's contract to get a win bonus??? I would love to see Shogun Destroy Jones. But I really don't think he can. (I've never been right before)! I think Jones @ 23 could be the next A. Silva. He just has it ALL. The last 2 fights have been SO EASY for him. I never thought too much of Bader, but comm'on, i thought he'd do better than that! A. Silva vs Jones would be AWESOME. and you never know... It could happen. I'd love to see it. i think the A. Silva vs GSP fight is a joke (No Offense Dan) I think Silva will go right thru him as fast if not faster than he did Belfort. Sorry!

Ouch! Really? Anyways, you said it yourself, you are never right! :)

I think it's a joke for different reasons. I don't think GSP has anything to gain out of it, and he would be at a disadvantage just for being naturally lighter.

As far as who would win, I don't know why you are so quick to pick Silva. You did see the Silva/Sonnen fight? Sonnen basically took Silva down at will. Sonnen just has no BJJ skills, so aside from some GnP, he couldn't avoid being submitted, nor could he submit Silva. I think GSP is equally as effective at takedowns as Sonnen is, and is a BJJ black belt to boot. No, he's not as good as Silva in BJJ, but is much better than Sonnen. I think GSP is good enough to avoid being submitted, therefore can lay 'n pray for the win. Boring fight? Yes. But a win is a win.

Sounds like the possibility of this fight becoming a reality is gaining momentum, so we very well may get to see it.

IIRC Dana had last week promised this fight will happen. Too bad Belfort didn't watch any of how Sonnen owned Silva for 23mins. A Brazilian will not beat Silva standing up. Period. That match up was perfect for a Silva demolition and that's exactly what we got. Takedowns, superior wrestling and out working him can beat him. I'd take GSP in that match up as he won't stand there waiting to get hit or kicked like so many have against Silva.

You heard it here first. Jones will PUMMEL Shogun. No one - and I mean NO ONE - is touching Jonny Bones Jones - he's phenomenal. In all my years of watching fighting - whether boxing or MMA - this is the one guy that absolutely TERRIFIES me when I watch him. His strikes are so crisp and so damaging, it's scary. He freight-trained Hammill and Vera - both decent fighters...DESTROYED them.

I'm with Armen on his Silva / GSP prediction. Silva is too big and talented for GSP. He has no chance. I am with you on Jones / Silva, though - those are the 2 best fighters in the game and I think that's a war.

Cerrone? That's my boy - love him! And to all the Diaz chatter - DANA - BRING HIM IN NOW. I don't think he beats GSP, but man we need a top heel, and he's the man!

Decent fighters - yes. Caliber of Shogun? No way. Not even close.

Who's the most impressive guy that Jones has beaten? Bonnar maybe? Vera maybe?

Who has Shogun beaten? How about Machida, Liddell, Overeem (twice), Rampage, Randleman, L'il Nog, etc. He is in his prime right now, at the age of 30.

I don't know if you are overestimating Jones, or underestimating Shogun - either way, Jones is in for the fight of his life.

But... He's not as good as Vitor is on the ground and look what happened to Vitor. No, In all honesty, I would like to see a GREAT fight, BUT... A. Silva fights and KO's Big guys @ 205. You know GSP never weighs MORE than 180 - 185 lbs on his heaviest days. I LOVE GSP and dont get me wrong, But I really think it's an EASY fight for A. Silva. WE'RE BETTING ON THIS ONE!!!! Me and You! Deal? :) WAR!!!!!

Not a question of caliber of fighter, it's what he's done with the opposition before him. As I said - in ALL the years I've watched, that dude is the only one that scares me. You literally saw Vera's eye socket shatter when hit by Jones. Matyushenko - who is a tough dude - was decimated. Hammill was absolutely destroyed - it was sick and almost sad.

Shogun is an excellent fighter - I just don't see him lasting the onslaught. We'll see - I'll admit if I am wrong, but I have a feeling Shogun is gonna get mauled.

Haha........I did say GSP is at a disadvantage because he is naturally lighter, but I will take that bet. Gonna keep supporting my homeboy. What are the stakes? A beer?

Don't get me wrong, Jones is looking like he can be the next big thing. Just don't overlook Shogun..........give the Champ some credit. How about all of those amazing fights in his Pride days? The guy is absolutely top caliber, and Jones will be facing his toughest opponent ever. It should be a great fight, and I look forward to it. In my mind, it will truly give us the answer to how legit Jones is. This will be the test.

Yea - Bigfoot is gonna get smoked. 1st round KO for Fedor.

There's a classic video of Bigfoot's cartwheel fail - kind of sums up how I see him - a little awkward.

    Agreed.

Jones doesn't have a game-plan when he walks into the cage, and he relies on his natural skill. Unfortunately for him, you need a game-plan against a guy like Shogun.

You wanna edit that comment!! HAHA :D

I loved it!! Fedor has been overrated for YEARS and got what was coming to him.....His face looked like hambuger-----His comments sound like he is done and not going to fight anymore...... Good idea on his part, these upcoming guys are bigger and stronger and well rounded. Every future fight will be a tough battle if he continues....

I guess it is time for Arlovski to retire.....

Wow. Just WOW! Open my mouth and INSERT FOOT...or BIGFOOT! What a performance!

I stick by what I said about Bigfoot being awkward - he still looked uncomfortable and awkward, and round 1 he got pasted with some good shots, but he ended nicely with the takedown.

Round 2 he was simply MAULING him. And although I agree that Fedor has been overrated, I don't think he's done, that guy took a serious beating and STILL was able to slap an ankle lock on Bigfoot. I am not a huge Strikeforce fan, but that fight was really good. Even my wife and sisters-in-law - all of whom HATE fighting - were up and yelling. Great call by Coker and the Strikeforce bookers.

On the opposite coin - I am with you on Arlovski - he needs to get out now. He was still glassy eyed for a few minutes afterwards, his chin is just glass.

That is true, and it's what I like about Jones. You can stick to a plan to a fault - it's like Gunny Sgt. Highway said - you need to adapt and overcome...I think Jones does that well.

As for my ability to prognosticate fights - see my prediction of Fedor / Bigfoot :) It's precisely why they fight them in the ring, not on paper.

Yeah, there's only so many times your lights can go out before causing some serious damage - time for Arlovski to hang it up. Too bad.....I was rooting for him, and he was looking pretty good for a while.

As for Fedor, he really was fighting a freak of nature. I mean, look at the size of Silva's jaw. He brushed off Fedor's strikes as if they were nothing at all, strikes that send other fighters to la-la land. Silva does look awkward when he fights, but as his technique gets better, he'll be a hard guy to beat.

I'd really like to see Fedor drop down to LHW.

+1, Although he can obviously hold his own otherwise, he would kill people in LHW.

His face was so messed up.
