Thanks very much. I just pressed the gas pedal; no credit to me. A couple of additional notes: the track was cold (45 degrees) and was only treated for the first 60 feet. So in better conditions, I should be able to knock it down to close to 11.0. And of course this is ET, so there's no reaction time -- it's start to finish.

Launch control requires running manual. In race mode-auto, you can pedal launch (depress the break and floor it) and it will rev and launch on break release. It's a very similar effect, but you're in auto. For me at least, auto will be a lot faster because I don't know when to hit the gear shifts perfectly.

That's interesting. It's the exact opposite with BMW DCT. Can't wait to get my 458!

Tommy- The cold air makes more hp and it did not sound like you were losing too much traction during the run. The end speed of 130+ mph is really impressive. That is Enzo territory.

I only have the time slips for some of the runs. But here is the 11.269 run:

    60' - 1.963
    330 - 5.012
    1/8 - 7.440
    MPH - 100.84
    1000 - 9.517
    1/4 - 11.269
    MPH - 131.84

Yeah, I'm starting to suspect that my time had to have been influenced by the temperature. I thought it was slowing me down, but maybe it was helping the engine and actually speeding me up.

    I found the 11.228 run:
    60; - 1.929
    330 - 4.976
    1/8 - 7.405
    MPH - 100.74
    1000 - 9.480
    1/4 - 11.228
    MPH - 132.19

You can see that the .04 difference in the runs comes from a slightly better start. After that, the runs are basically equal.

430man may be referring to the fact that this runs were practice for a drag race on March 8 in Las Vegas against a 720hp Shelby Cobra. He's still around 13.0 so far. I've agreed to spot him .2 seconds and that I have to beat him 3/3.

I told ya the first day you posted he was going to struggle to do 12.5 and that you would beat him by over a full second.

I guess it's still too early to say I told you so huh? ;-)

and BTW Tommy, I was a bit harsh in that post. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140267102&postcount=4

Because first, I was less than impressed by your taking advantage of a poor old man. ;-) But also because you two (checkbook racers) sounded like an accident waiting to happen.

After reading many of your posts, I guess I prejudged you a bit. You 'get' he is racing a computer and not you. And (more importantly) you also have shown an abundance of respect for the safety issues surrounding this race.

So in that regard, I owe you an apology and while I'm at it, let me be the first to thank you for sharing this with both communities. This is the kind of race that gets run thousands of times over beers but almost never in real life.

I'll be waiting on the videos like everyone else. thanks

Great to see those time slip numbers. 132 MPH in the quarter mile is very impressive; especially for a car that isn't just built to go fast in a straight line! Thanks

Get some sticky rears and get that 60' down and you will murder the cobra. Right now I'm seeing a neck and neck race.
