the NY metro area with all the snow we got last night. I wonder what Emil is having for lunch?
I am one of the only people here at work today... everyone else is probably out doing "something" other than sitting in front of the computers.
^ Yeah, like recovery from digging out the v-dub buried by the DSNY. The kid stayed home from school.....he was providing the moral support
I had Italian Wedding Soup for lunch. I'm sorry, but this section is trully dismal. Are there any people here who actually own a car anymore or is it just folks who want to see the generous Dr. Taxes cars and know where the current best restaurant in Manhattan is located. Crickets will be heard as usual. No one even gets the Emil joke. . . sad.
I'm here for the C&C, Bradan, and Exotic spotters threads mainly. Since it's crappy weather time I'm guessing more users in this section are venturing to the OT, OOT, F-Car specific model, or subscribed threads now. P.S I put a remote start in my DD for the winter back in Nov. If you don't have one, your work day will be happier in the morning once you get it.
i wIlL sMaCk YoU in dA' mOuF liKe a BiznItCH daT I FwERRf'd LasT NItE yOu EC PlaYa SupReME CreAM MoFO! Also, I skipped lunch, but had dinner at Joseph Leonard on Waverly and drinks at I Tre Merli Bistro. No, I did not drive the Scuderia, but Gus at technik1 has the C63 in for remote start hook-up. He just did the Range Rover and it's the sickness!
I'm surprised by that thing... It's amazing and I normally hate the Mercedes product line. It's really the best highway cruiser I've ever had.
<nerd> I could swear the casing treatment here (...PlaYa SupReME CreAM...) is an example of studlify-case from emacs.... </nerd>
Any quality problems since you took ownership? I added a 500e ('93) to the stable last year. Found it in Savannah, GA and one Saturday morning, flew down to drive it home. As you probably know, traffic on Route 95 moves at 80 mph most of the time, and I was running between 80 and the ton. That 5 liter V8 was in its zone at that speed, with awesome power in reserve. I was amazed at how I could see a hole in traffic and with a squirt of throttle, put the car there. They made an even more limited run of 6.0 versions in '95 but most are in Europe. It would be nice to find one of the few 6.0 liter wagons they made - flared fenders and all. If your issue with the later cars is quality-based, I understand. The pre-'96 E-Class was the best work those boys* ever did IMO. *the crew at Porsche included
One of the sponsors should have a "clinic day" for us during the winter months. Since they're probably working on interesting things during the winter. Meanwhile, we can get together and "sample the goods". With so many shops around here, once a month will pass the winter blues rather quickly. Ace
I put a trickle charger several weeks ago on my 308 so it will ready for better weather. The groundhog did not see its shadow on the 2nd and this past weekend I could feel the beginning of spring in the air. Soon the cars will be comming out.
!!! Totally missed this. The band really clicked and sound reinforcement was on their game. I wish I had brought a fold-up hand cart to move my 100+ lbs of amp stuff but in the absence of that it was a good workout. The CD burned off the mix has no guitars or bass -- PA mix only. We are hoping the 2 video units set up in the wings will (surprisingly) have a better mix.
Heard you held your own on the drums as well. Maybe you'll need to get the group into a studio to cut the official soundtrack album. Anyway, I too have fired up the trickle charger in hopes of making some music in the near future.
Were there PB guys in the audience? I saw some Ops folks but thought the rest was Risk Tech. Weather is going melt the last of the snirt (snow+dirt) and next weekend could be good motoring....
No PB that I know of. My info is secondhand. I cheated on the snirt. Went for a drive on Sunday. Gave her a quick sponge bath afterwards. I think she approved, but then again, we're just getting to know each other.
Excellent! Since the rest of the NYTS forum is essentially stagnant, let's continue. Wanna 512i windshield sticker for your F430? Better: 2.5 months until Run Out East, the Unofficial Official Start of Motoring Season. North Fork Vineyard area.
Sounds like a nice trip - and I get a decent head start on you. I think one of my neighbors got "caught" on the spotters thread recently. Now, if I were to get spotted with your sticker, would you get a cut of the credit?
Ha! Not likely. It took getting caught in the Sept "microburst" to get the 512i spotted. The spotters are not attuned to pre-348 cars except for the 308/328.
