    Folks,

Figured I would get the word out here too.

I am involved with a group that is buying a used G-IV. There is no existing flight operation so we need pilots, flight attendant and maintenance person.

The aircraft is 1175, formerly G-EVLN. Currently at GAC-Appleton doing the acquisition and subsequent buyer desired work.

The aircraft goes into service about 20 February.

The 2 primary bases will be London and Abuja. A second G-IV is being actively sought.

Please let me know immediately if you are interested r help get the word out to those that might be.

    Jeff

Are you looking for JAA pilots or are FAA certificated pilots okay? Is this a corporate position or are you looking to do charter as well? GIV's are going really cheap right now, it's a buyers market. You can get a IV SP for 9 to 10 million.

There seems to be a lot of activity in Abuja these days, although I'm not sure I'd want to live there... or even visit!

Still, I'm sure it's the right job for someone.

FAA is fine for the Nigerian NCAA.

It is a privately owned G-IV (1175) that will do some amount of Africa generated charter.

This G-IV, pre-SP, was under $8.0. We are actively looking for a second G-IV of similar status and price. For intial registration into Nigeria it cannot be older than 1989.

Abuja is the capital of the country. They are also starting a presidential election. Nigeria is one of the larger oil producers of OPEC. West Africa is also becoming real active with off shore oil finds.

Abuja isn't bad. It is such a new city it has yet to deteriorate into the decay of Lagos.

    Gulfstream V Stuck in Congo

A Gulfstream V managed by New York City-based Arcadia Aviation was seized last week in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and the flight crew and passengers are being held by authorities, according to news reports. The jet, N886DT, is registered to Southlake Aviation of Irving, Texas, and is currently in Goma. The reports mention large amounts of cash being used to buy gold, but thus far no official information on the situation has been released. “We’re doing all we can to be cooperative,” Arcadia president Robert Garrett Jr. told AIN, “as the appropriate authorities in the U.S. and the DRC discuss how to resolve this political problem. Our primary focus has been to ensure the safety of the passengers and flight crew and the security of the aircraft while supporting our client. We’re an international company that focuses on long-range, large-cabin missions. We have aircraft that operate all over the world, including some areas that are more challenging than others. We have coordinated with the appropriate authorities in the U.S. to support a resolution with their counterparts in the DRC. Progress is being made and we look forward to the release and safe return of the passengers, flight crew and aircraft in relatively short order.” The DRC embassy in Washington has not responded to AIN’s phone call.

    Just saying....

Got the same AIN newsletter. Not a good thing but something also doesn't sound quite right about what the passengers were doing there.

The "off the end of the runway" G-550 is in the hangar here with tape cordoning it off. The local news last night announced the aircraft owner's name.

That the incident occurred is a touchy subject around here - Gulfstream pilots on a pre-delivery test flight.

    I bet it did!

That one will cost G some money... I wonder if the owner will accept it once it's fixed, or demand a new airplane.

Given the typical penalty associated with damage history when they go to resell it, I wouldn't be surprised to see them reject it.

Interestingly enough, I've heard the same owner's G-V was also damaged prior to delivery-- to another customer. The customer rejected it, and this owner picked it up at a discount. However, his sister might feel differently about discount Gulfstreams...

Well I wasn't going to ask about it, as I already heard about it as they announced it at work. (public knowledge).

I was going to ask a few questions about working for an overseas operator and changed my mind.

Plus, my boss has a screen name on F chat! :)

"The "off the end of the runway" G-550 is in the hangar here with tape cordoning it off. The local news last night announced the aircraft owner's name."

No big deal, it was one of Paul Allen's new machines, he just sold his two Boeing 757's - one to Google, and I think Trump? bought one. He also has his older Global Express, and he just registered his new Global Express on the same day his GV-SP got dinged up - though I did hear it landed kinda far down the 6'500 foot runway.

I am curious however why the Guflstream (N535GA) starboard thrust reverser is fully open and the port reverser is stowed. ????

Any Gulfsteam jobs on the West coast???

A friend of mine has been a Captain on a privately operated Saudi Gulfstream II-TT for several years. He is leaving the job in mid June and is looking for work in the California or West Coast area.

Great guy - real airplane guy!!! He lives mid California on the Ocean!!!

A GII-TT! You'd need to be Saudi to operate that thing, these days.

Is he out of Jeddah flying for a family that also owns a Hawker? The principal I am thinking of is related to the Enany family and the crew used to stay at Al Bilad hotel then switched to some apartments.
