I dont know the car but if needed can check it out for you as your offsite inspector :). I have had several 355s. I cant get into the detailed information as to the compression and other stuff like that, but verifying service records, previous paint jobs and making sure things are up and up will do.

    Let me know

That teaser ad has been around for 4-6 months and no one has bought the car. It is the cheapest 355 listed anywhere. There must be a reason it is not selling. There must be zillions of inquiries on the thing when some guys think they can get $70 for their 355's one for 40k looks darn good. But a headjob with valves at $25k rebuild that I hear is not out of the question will kill you right there before you even start to deal with the sticky interior and leather dash pulls. Rick aka sandyego did a great upgrade to his 355 maintenance and was in it for $20K major, gold connector kit, refurbishment and he started with a good car! I'd love to see the leak down numbers on that one for $40k but he does not have any or will not show them from someone else who has already spent the $ on a PPI.

I also agree that it may be too good to be true.
But, you may also be the luckiest one of us all. So, I would ask all my questions, look at records, and if everything appears to be straight on paper, do a PPI.
Contact Damian at Fusion Motor Sports (818) 773-9636. Teh car is very clsoeto Fusiona Motor sports, btw.
Damian will put under a "microscope" and will do his Ferrari detective work while teaching you all you need to know about it.
    Good luck.

It might not have sold because it has 47k miles on it.
And as others have stated, it may be cheap, but if the car has not been properly maintained you are going to be spending 70-80k before all is said and done.
I just went through this process:

Start with a cheap and easy carfax.
If that checks out then get the complete service history for the car.
If the car has been properly maintained then spend the $500 and get a reputable Ferrari dealer or independent to do a full mechanical PPI including a compression test.
If that checks out then I would fly out there and test drive it and buy it if you like it.
Do not rely on anyone doing a visual inspection of the car.

    Good luck!

This is actually my car. I alerted autotrader about this matter and I guess it was taken off. But I have a question, how do I go about finding service records for my car. I have alot of requests from interested parties about records. It would also be good to know myself.

Buy the right car and be done with it. You'll be a lot happier on the long run (and so will your spouse).

Run Carfax for some direction. It is possible that the report will show where some of the servicing was done. Then start making phone calls.
