Sometimes the real world intrudes. I've been pleased to see how well the F-Chat community has responded and their ability to see beyond the narrow confine of the sport.
Last years race was so boring that maybe with adding some suicide bombers and marshalls/militants chasing them down the track will add some excitement.
Bahrain GP is always insanely boring. The only sad part about loosing the race is that it would have been the first indicator of true strength of the teams. So now the agonizing wait continues. It'd be a non issue if this race were mid season
I was actually discussing the same thing yesterday with one of my mates during the rugby...We both said it'll probably be cancelled, he said we weren't missing much. I said exactly the same what you just said.
Bernie Ecclestone says he will leave the decision on whether the Bahrain Grand Prix can go ahead to the country's crown prince.

Yes D, I think its dead in the water to be honest, Bernie does not seem to care that much, although he reckons it will be rescheduled midseason if cancelled, he is just throwing the ball in princes court, so he can wipe his hands of the trouble if it goes tits up.
Hard to believe a leading team would forfeit precious WDC points. Probably more like a midfield team. I'm sure Ferrari, RB and McLaren will be there IF there is a race

He is allowing the crown prince to make the decision so he can later on sue him for breach of contract due to some legal technicality in the contract....just watch ;-)
Actually I'll be thoroughly p!ssed off if there is a race and ANY team turns up. F1 needs to make the correct statement and racing around in circles is not important enough to simply ignore the plights of the people that live there. It would be completely insulting. The only proper thing to do is show some respect and take our PLAY toys elsewhere. Pete
I think that Ecclestone is playing a waiting game and delaying making a decision himself. If he cancels the GP, he may be liable towards the organisers, the country, etc... But if the event is canceled by the authorities in Barhain, that would become the responsability of the government.
Well that would be typical Bernie but in this case there may be no assets to attach when the dust settles
A la USF1 I wonder what type of contracts Bernie/the teams have with sponsors that may stipulate that 20 races are held this season. Maybe the grand prix will simply be postponed until later in the season or held at another circuit instead of being canceled outright.
